The Dubai marathon was run in similar temps and it was super fast! What was it, like 8 runners went 2:04. I'm sure both of these groups are on a similar doping regimen. If these guys can't break the WR in these conditions (no wind, pleasant temp), then they really suk.
Did anyone ask him how many out of competition tests he had to take while in training in Somalia? I'm not (just) trolling here, it's a legit question - did he get tested at all? Did they test him whenever he showed up back in England (I assume he took some trips back during training)?
Has Farah ever shown the ability to run a world record pace marathon? He's got a very fast 1500, but never showed the speed in the 5 and 10 to threaten the world records. He's got a 59:30-odd half marathon best.
Does this show he can hang for 42 km at world record pace now that he is focusing on the marathon?
Will this be live on tv in the states?

So he runs back to back 1.01'30" and 1'04'30"... runs with the lead the first half (CHECK) and breaks the British Record at the end (CHECK). Why are some of you in arms....

Mo's smugness is deplorable. A 'why not' attitude towards setting a WR? Could show some respect for himself, the time and the distance. Can't wait to see him get smoked by Kipchoge.

He trained for the marathon last time, too. Finished his regular track season and trained for London. He's had about the same time frame to prep this year as his previous attempt.
We also saw his WC Half marathon race where he didn't go with the leaders, but picked up places toward the end to improve his position. So far he's simply never shown the tactic to go out super hard with an elite field at a fast pace in a 1/2 or full marathon.
If the field goes at WR speed I doubt he'll go with them, knowing he can run a more moderate speed, and catch those folks who blow up, and likely get his target of the U.K. Record as well. He's prolly not the fastest marathon runner, but he IS a smart runner.
He is smart on the track only RELATIVE to his competitors, and you have to wonder about their brains in many of these races like the 1500 that Centro won.
I don't see any particular evidence of him being smart in the thon, either in an absolute sense, or relative to his competitors.
I hope he gets smoked. He's a douchebag. Better still, I hope he gets busted.

What country exactly? He doesn't have the UK marathon record. No-one cares about the ENGLISH record. You do know the difference don't you?

Classic LR strawman argument. Farah said nothing about thinking he could break the wr. He said he could START at wr pace if the others do. Implication - he is prepared to suffer in the later stages and slow down.

He would have been urine tested for EPO but no blood tests for the ABP during his 3 months away before London.

His half pb is 59.22 so 61.30 paced and he should be easy at that stage. How much is he going to lose in the second half? He has several mins in hand for his target of the UK record.
