Anyone notice that only girls teams from schools under 1000 enrollment ever get to NXN? Never a boys team that small.
Boys and girls quite simply develop differently during their high school years.
Most boys tend to develop in ways that aid athletic performance - they git taller, stronger, and gain testosterone.
Girls can develop in ways that both aid and inhibit athletic performance - they can gain height and strength, but they might also see their body fat percentage increase, their hip geometry change, etc.
This discrepancy in average development means that girls teams can be very successful with freshman and sophomore athletes in prominent positions while boys teams are much more likely to be junior and senior laden. Given that you only need 5 to score, it means it is much easier to assemble a high level girls team at a small school than a boys team.
what is with the private school discrimination tho? I know some recruit out-of-state but still... It's not like they have separate private school nxn or anything like that
