Well this joke of a track and how athletes are not being given time to adapt to the unique weirdness of the curves has a lot to do with it. It seems to me that this facility should never have been awarded the meet.
I noticed that Brazier was very passive, even deferential, to Kszchot when he passed just after 600m. It appears that once he knew he would be DQ'd anyway, he just caved in mentally. He was just going through the motions. A true competitor would have been mad at himself for the mistake, and probably run a PR on pure self-hate.
I'm not sure we will see the "killer instinct" with this kid, even as he matures. When you cave in at a major performance like this, it leaves damage. A great coach can help an athlete through this, but I am not sure that Brazier has that situation.

I agree, and find it interesting that it is not discussed more. It is evident that there is something there in the mechanics and fairly obvious something isn’t right. Almost a pace lock.
Earl was involved in an auto accident that ruined a knee. Plus he ran more college than DB, helped his team's chances. They are similar in speed & strength. And from the same state!
He needs to train with Rudisha in Kenya, given they have the similar form, height and weight.
