Do you enjoy being held down by naked men, not knowing what next they might do to you?
Yes, that's a regular Friday night for me.
Seriously, chill out. There's worse things than having hot sweaty meat shoved in your face.
Haha hilarious prank. Runners aren’t gay at all! Wonder why anyone would think that? Anyway great prank! Haha

Punish the six athletes, leave the overall teams alone. Why is this more complicated than that? 114 athletes (including the women's team) being suspended for a prank by six guys on the men's team seems extreme to me.
Its hazing . The entire team was involved.
Being held down by a naked person is sexual assault. Being naked in public is sexual harassment at the least. They also stole property. Pranking is an absolutely pathetic excuse to attempt to take away responsibility. Would you be okay if your mother, sister, or girlfriend was held down by some naked guys? Depending on the individual victim, he or she could suffer after the fact as well.
First, this sounds like the dumbest "prank" ever. How did the conversation go?
"Hey, guys! You know what would be awesome? Let's go steal a picture!"
"Great idea, bro! But you know what would make it even better? If we were all naked!"
They sound like a bunch of nerds out on their own for their first time. Which, I suppose they are, but I'd expect a little more restraint (probably a poor choice of words in this instance) or guidance from the upperclassmen. Someone should have stepped in and told them how dumb and spectacularly uncool this idea was.
Second, hazing in any form is stupid, but why the hell does a track and field team need to haze its members? Isn't the training hard enough? If they are really hazing people and this is an example of how they do it, screw 'em; I hope their whole season is cancelled.
This is coming from a person who spent plenty of time doing stupid naked stuff in college (co-ed naked mile with the women's team, etc). The difference is that we never did anything illegal, we never hurt anyone, and it was never just guys.
Some people do like that, you kink-shaming bigot.
found the homophobe. quit projecting your insecurities snowflake

Now tell us about the stupid stuff.

At a Beta Theta Pi bid acceptance night two days prior, Piazza had reportedly consumed at least 18 drinks in 82 minutes. He'd fallen 15 feet down a flight of basement stairs, and remained largely unconscious for 12 hours before anyone dialed 911.
He died from traumatic brain injuries and spleen damage on February 4, 2017, in the hospital.
In wake of his death, 26 fraternity members and the now-defunct Beta Theta Pi chapter are charged in one of the largest criminal indictments in recent history levied against a fraternity and its members.
ha ha ha
What's your point?
Just because some fraternities/hazing has gone way too far doens't mean we should eliminate it all.
It blows my mind how AMericans can't understand that the middle ground is a good place to be.
The problem in this world is everything gets taken too far. After the Great Depression, we had FDR and the safety net and the rise of unions but then it went too far. Then we went in the other direction. A 90% top tax bracket was absurd. So we cut taxes, that doesn't mean we should eliminate taxes like so many right wingers seem to think.
Everything gets taken too far. There is no nuance. It's easier to just eliminate it all.

Comment from student newspaper's post. Seems like there's more to it.
Where do you see comments? I went to the article and looked for comments and thought it was weird that there are zero comments on all of their articles.
Do you have to be logged in to see comments?

I'll bet that snowflake was "dripping with privilege" after those boys got done with him.
Check the facebook. It's there.

The kid who was "assaulted" sounds like a snowflake.
Was the kid who was held down by a group of naked males a woman?

Your username is funny when you think about just how privileged you have to be to live in a time and place where "suffering" through something like this qualifies you as such a victim. Honestly, other than precious feelings, what is really so different about naked guys holding you down as opposed to clothed? I'm not saying it would be an enjoyable experience or that it was a nice thing to do but people in here are acting as if the dude was raped or something. Like damn, have you guys never been to a party before? Or are parties just way more tame than they used to be? I've seen naked/partially naked drunk people more times than I can count.
1) it would have been assault if they were clothed too.
2) you really think that being held down by a group of naked strangers sounds exactly the same as being held down by a group of clothed strangers?
3) seeing a naked person at a party isn't the same. You could have left at any time. This is a person at work when suddenly six naked strangers burst in and pin you down.
You really don't get why the person subjected to this may have felt victimized? Saying you don't understand is akin to saying you are willing to accept this happening to your self or anybody else you know. How would your mother feel in this situation, caught completely by surprise and pinned down by naked men? What about a younger sibling?
Don't get me wrong, the fact that they didn't have malicious intent is deserving of leniency. But they definitely deserve some punishment. This is a crime. They should be given the minimum sentence for what they did, but they shouldn't get away with this with no consequences.
If their prank demanded stealing a picture, they should have done so wearing clothes and non violently. Even that would have consequences if they were caught, but it would have been less severe.
1) So would noogies, fivestars, and purple nurples if we are being literal, what's your point?
2) I never said exact, I said aside from precious feelings what is the difference? I'd still like to hear an answer to that.
3) The point wasn't that it is the same, it was that it is not a traumatic or harming experience.
I get why the person would be upset or annoyed. I get why they might say "f*ck you guys" or try and resist them with force of his own. I don't, however, get why they would feel victimized to the point of taking legal action (to be fair, it never said what the students thoughts are, he may not even care). If it were my mother is irrelevant, because it was a male student, not an older women. If it were my younger bother, I'd have a good laugh. Like I said, the university has to establish some form punishment, but news stories and getting the police involved is just stupid.
Sooooo does this mean they are cancelling their Rossi Relays track meet?
Given today's climate, it is highly likely that someone just saw a wiener they didn't expect, and consider that assault.
so if you read closely, not all the dudes were naked. from what I can tell, it's implied that the guy who held him down was not naked, but other guys there were.

Article says it was part of an initiation for the whole team.
This is why the whole team was punished. For all we know the six guys were told to do this by the team as part of the initiation.
It's funny what as adults we would never put with that we think it's ok for 19 and 20 year old kids to accept.
If 6 guys trespass into your home, hold you down, some naked, and stole a picture, I don't think you would care if they were laughing or not when they did it.
The coach has no idea this stuff is going on? .......no senior leadership either?
That team needs some community service to wake up.
Here as actual correct adult answer. A rarity for this MB.
