If you're looking for people to run with, there are running clubs near you.
Also some decent guys occasionally stop by kezar for some intervals. If you're there, start a conversation if any of them are out there and you might be able to network.
Lots of b level runners in the area on small sponsorships who are a level above you that you can run with.
I agree with the suggestion to keep your mileage slow for a while if you're going to insist on continuing to run 100m weeks. If you try to bring up the intensity, you'll definitely get hurt.
I also agree with the suggestion to get into some 1500s, even if you want to focus on the 5000.. Track season is starting. Most of the bigger meets won't allow you in. But you should be able to run at the Cal meet and the SF state meets. Chabot also has some meets, but check last year's results to see if you'll have any competition. A drive up to Chico or Davis for their meets should have some good races for you too.
Thank you. I found a group of people who meet every Saturday at Crissy Field for a 5k fun run. I have already ran it and had a good time. I might go and lower my 15:50 5k mark every other week.
