When he said, in some article I read, some bulls*t about "I found out my body could handle 150 miles a week for a few weeks before I got hurt", I just laughed and said "this guy doesn't get it at all".
That's moronic thinking. Your body COULDN'T handle 150 miles per week, hence why you got hurt.
Then he would rest/recover and within a few weeks of coming back, be doing 150 mile weeks again for a few weeks before getting hurt again.
Rinse. Repeat.
If you don't learn from past failures, you're doomed to repeat them..or in his case be perma-injured and a "shell" of what he was at his peak (although to be fair he was always light years faster than what I could do...ha).
