There is about 10 people I notice doing this at my work. They're all in their 40s, though, I don't think any of them are millenials. Not that it matters...

The thing about quality "insult" humor, in my opinion, is that is needs to hit close to home; there needs to be some truth in it somewhere. When people say outrageous things about conservatives, whites, Trump, comparisons to the KKK, ect. It's typically so far removed from reality that it's just not that funny. However, your comment was dialed in and undeniable. In fact, it is not uncommon for me to eat lunch in my car at the park while listening to Rush L. His monologues do in fact get me worked up. I am a white male...and I'm occasionally angry. That whole picture is humorous and maybe embarrassing. Haha!

The whole deal with Rush is he is actually one of the few people on talk radio that I actually agree with a decent amount and I consider myself more left leaning. I am guessing that he is more Libertarian though so I guess that makes sense.

Agreed.
I rarely, if ever, disagree with Rush and I find him to be incredibly good at articulating the things that I already feel/know/sense.
That said, the image of the angry white guy (me) sitting in his car getting worked up listening to conservative talk radio is still humorous.
I grew up with a very, very unsightly appearance. Though I look fine now, the damage and scarring has been done and I have trouble in public spaces.

Categorizing Limbaugh as a Libertarian actually sounds like a lame rationalization for listening to him, for in reality he is a right-wing extremist and few conservatives are actually willing to own up to the fact that they identify with the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter.
When I was doing summer manual labor as a 20-something college student, I used to love Rush because I thought he was hilarious. (And the idiocy of his callers was even higher comedy.) But eventually it became obvious that Rush was sincere in his whacko views, so I had to let it go.
Trust me, those of us who are legitimate, thoughtful conservative Republicans stay as far away as possible from the likes of Limbaugh and the Fox News fools. Stop settling for affirmation and start seeking information.
The only people I know at my work who do this are over 50 years old.

Give me a few examples of whacko views on major issues. I've listened to a fair amount of Rush and almost always agree with what he is saying 100%
And if you are giving examples of his views pleas make sure that they are in fact his views.
I think it is important to listen to all sides of an issue, the main reason I listen to Rush is because he is on the radio during my lunch time.
Hannity is on the air during my drive home and while I can't stand him, I still listen to him from time to time as well to get a better understanding of his listeners views.
When you start dismissing everyone that doesn't hold the same views as you as as idiots or whackos is when you are truly just seeking affirmation.
