True....not every single run they do when training in the summer for example is done slow but the point is proving the theory of being able to create more ATP/larger mitochondria from running slow in high volume. They are able to train at a much higher volume then most runners because most runners go too fast when supposedly running easy. That's one theory. On the other hand we have the traditional runners who grew up learning to keep your easier pace honest...meaning 1-2minutes off race pace. And rack up the miles. The OPs question on training sounded closer to the first approach...I'm assuming he/she was a troll though since I didn't see a response to anything.
