Even though I would like Farah more if he made some valiant attempts to break the 5000 m and 10000 m WRs, criticizing this race is unwarranted. Winning a moderately paced 3000 m with a big kick against modest opposition is the right race one month out from the WCs.

He was 7th at the world champs in 2009 and had the 13th fastest time in 2010. Both much better than top 20....In 2011 when he joined NOP he had the fastest time at 12:53. Mo improved...but I think it's safe to say the rest of the world post bekele's best years slowed down too.

He improved very significantly over quite a short period after joining Salazar in Oregon. I don't trust he didn't dope. Could even have been covered up.
all of those times are soft, except for the 1500m, for a guy who has won the 10000m four times at global champs and the 5000m five times, destroying guys with superior pr's.

Bolt does the same thing weak fields does just enough to win but nobody has a problem with it........ Has he even broken 10 this year? The reality is it doesn't matter farah has admitted he's not a time guy and goes for the medals which are more important anyways (i.e. I would take centro over Alan Webb). What's wrong wit running to win , I'm sure 7:35 was no walk in the park, party t has run 13:13 this year, Jenkins has been a solid mile 5k guy, mead and butchart are solid racers. im not sure about Farrah's credibility from a drug standpoint but let's be honest there's nothing wrong with riding the farewell train the way he or bolt is doing it. If he didn't get WRs 5 years ago chances are he's not going to now. Why didn't lagat try and break records last year?

Those times are not worthy to be called the greatest of all-time. Geb & Bekeke & Tergat were on another level. Komen, El G... there's quite a list in front of him. He's getting older. Mo does not have the hate to do that. He's pretty good, but not that good.

Don't worry. After London when he moves to the road he will have to go for times, because you have many runners today that run sub 2:05. I think he won't make it on the roads.

Times are unimportant. What matters are global medals, performing when it counts.

Exactly. No one really cares about a fast time. The guys i listed ran 12:48 and 12:49, which is wayyy faster than Farah's pr, but no one remembers their name except seeing them on the all time list.
