Stop glorifying hate! There is so much hate in the world and you just think it's fun?
You are sick! Grow up!

Your negativity will only act as fuel for our hatred.
If I didn't already do my long run for today, after reading your post, I would have run 13 miles instead of the 12.6 miles I ran in 84 degree weather.

I don't know if what followed was running on hate, or just unbridled rage, but I turned and sprinted back, shouting at the volunteers that they need to do their jobs.
I'm not sure what that was, but hate is silent. Hate could involve a stare down; pure hate is communicated only by the intense emotion on your face.
Once again hate is neither negative or positive. It is how it is used and controlled.
When Jesus turned over the money changers tables in the Jerusalem Temple, I pretty sure he was manifesting the purest form of "Pure Hate" against the evils of religious hypocrisy.
To deny evil in the world is as much a sin as thinking good intentions that make you feel good about yourself but in actuality have negative consequences such as giving money to a charity that actually spends most of their income on administrative functions than doing any good. The Clinton Foundation comes to mind.

Running anything over an 800 on Pure Hate is impossible. The half-life of Pure Hate is 400 meters, which has been theoretically predicted and experimentally observed many times.
Running a half-marathon on Pure Hate is like riding a unicorn across a rainbow.
Hate and Pure Hate are two distinct, fundamental forces that some runners learn to harness.
When I first tried to run on Pure Hate, I actually ran on Hate. After refining my technique to draw upon these forces, I eventually broke through and uncovered my untapped Pure Hate. I was more relaxed and in tune with myself rather than my competitors. That's part of the Purity of Pure Hate.
Tired now, I must go get some Pure Sleep.
No event can be run on Pure Hate. If it could everyone would do it.
Not everyone can run on pure hate. That's why it's called pure. Using that skill is open to a select percentage of individuals.
Running on pre-hate and hate is easy. Anyone can do that.
But just like how every persons' life circumstances are different, the factors that lead an individual to developing pure hate are unique unto themselves.
Also pure-hate runners don't have to automatically be fast. They have willpower and it is their hate that drives them to finish whatever task they set their mind to.
I've unlocked the skill of running on Hate/Pure Hate. I need to find a person who runs exclusively on Pure Hate to confirm my unlocking of this skill set towards this progression tree in running.
There are terrible people out there. If they are in your race, you have a chance at a PR by channeling your righteous dislike of them. It is possible for 10,000m and below. Half marathons are a bit long. You'll falter at 11.2 miles. They are bad people, but doing you a favor by racing you.
Is running on "Pure Hate" easy and for everyone? No and No.
Who then should attempt this method?
Introverts who can control their emotions.
Those who can consistently log 50 to 100 miles per week running.
God seekers who hate evil in the world.
It helps to have conservative values and politics.
A finely developed sense of humor.
Those with years of personal experience with loss, heartbreak, and rejection.
Should have had a series of unfulfilling jobs.
Those who avoid social media and television, movies, and large public gatherings.
Lives a semi hermetic existence.
Runs old school without music and preferably with no smile on face.
If you can do most of your runs in a cemetery that would be great but not absolutely necessary.
That's is for now, I warned you that it would not be easy and for the weak-minded and faint-hearted.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14, NIV)
The above is directly related to why so few are able to train their bodies and discipline their minds to run on "Pure Hate".
More to come..

Hate is a human instinct, and it is rarely strong enough to overcome the animal instinct of self-preservation. Once oxygen debt and fatigue sets in, you would be surprised how quickly you forget about the hate which had fueled you up to that point.
Pure hate is a level which transcends mere hate. Pure hate is also stronger than anger and love. It is rivaled only by pure love.
Agree that it can be easy to forget about hate when the harsh physiology of racing hard begins to set in.
But normal physiological limits can be exceeded when running on pure hate.
Also agree that mere hate is rarely strong enough to overcome self preservation, But pure hate is stronger than hate.
The 3 general levels of effort/self inflicted suffering for runners have been described as hurt, pain and agony.
I believe there are also levels of hate, that can be generally described as
dislike, hate and pure hate.
It is rare for a runner to push so hard that they actually experience true agony while running. It is similarly rare for a runner to be able to harness pure hate effectively while running.

You have no idea about running on pure hate.
You sound like a hobby jogger.

I can't seem to find it, but there is a great interview of Henry Rono from Athletics Weekly from probably the early 1980's. I think it was titled "Chasing the African Lion" or something like that. He talks about beating his opponents with hatred. Very intense.
Rono could have had a lot of demons to hate, and these all could have combined to allow him to achieve the level of pure hate.
Alcoholism, his coach pushing him so hard, his past, being a foreigner in WA USA.
He talked about using intervals not so much to train his body, but to train his mind. He could have been practicing tapping into pure hate.
How else can you explain running world records against no real competition, sometimes in less than ideal conditions?
Also his time at the top was short, and he crashed a hard after that. Running on pure hate is not sustainable.
Howard Cosell never boxed or played football but knew much about both. To run on "Pure Hate" you must be humble and not lash out at all the idiots in the world including those on LRC. Be in control and save these emotions for later use.

100% correct, it is so erroneous to race on anger for longer events, as you don't run evenly. Being focused is a better idea that should be pushed on these boards.
I saw a friend of mine run a 5k on pure hate. He despised the other guy in the lead so much the pure hate drove him to the next level where the only option was to run away from him - solely fueled on pure hate. He ended up winning a keg in the process. Pure hate gets the W.
You can't feed a baby on solid food and you can't learn differential calculus before you learn algebra. Many on this thread don't have the mental strength to understand "Pure Hate" so I will limit any more of my year's of wisdom on this subject.
To clarify a few things however:
Hate is just an emotion. To immediate associate all hate as wrong is to nullify the existence of an objective source of good in the world. Without this you can't hate what is evil. And likewise without this objective truth you could say you hate what is good which of course contradicts God. A Manicheaistic
view of the world where good and evil battle each other but doesn't give either side the edge is a no win for those needing an authority to place your life to bet on.
The idea of using "Pure Hate" in running is simply to take negative aspects in one's life and instead of instantly responding or lashing out in the moment is to hold onto that emotion in a safe place and use it at a later time to boost your running or racing performances. I believe this is a positive not a negative way to channel one's anger, disappointment, angst, and other similar emotions. If you are using this method to increase your hate of people that you race against you are using it in the wrong way. The stored away negative emotions should be used as a performance enhancement and if properly used can be controlled and dissipated from their original negative perspective to a positive impact in you race.
Unlike Jamin, who can't control his trolling, I will leave this topic alone for now... Less to come...
I'm not sure if this was 100% Pure Hate. There was a keg incentive so I could see this being 80% Hate, 20% Free Beer.

I don't have any personal Pure Hate running stories. I am more of a Pure Anxiety runner.
