Robert, it may come as a surprise to you but there are countless Catholic schools and churches named after the Immaculate Conception because Catholics use the term to refer to Mary's conception. The conception here was definitely not immaculate.

It wasn't luck. If it was all just down to "luck," then what's the point of using birth control? The primary reason for birth control failure is failure to use it correctly. That falls on the user, not the method.
