So it is pretty abstract, but not as abstract as it could be.

I think it should say "A biological male just won two events in the girls division at the Connecticut state meet." and not have a picture. You don't even need the #insanity has tag. It speaks for itself. That gets the point across without making it as personal. At the same time, the kid is a state champion so scrutiny is going to come with this.

So I'll delete it.

This debate can occur without rude rhetoric on either side.

Please be respectful to the kid even if you strongly disagree with the decision to allow her to compete. She's a kid.

It's not always as simple as XX or XY. There is enough variation among the billions of people on earth to make drawing the line between men and women a little more difficult than it may sound. There will always be outliers.

This "frustrating situation" wouldn't have occurred if this child had an active father in his/her life.

Once they can get you to do that then they can get you to go along with anything. Many people are already there, but I can see that there are still many who need more programming.

Correct. This using drugs to be more like a girl is ridiculous. Hormones are just one of many things that separate women from men.

Chromosomes XX and no SrY gene in the system. That should be the simple criterion to compete in the protected female category in any sport.

transgender athletes have no advantage at all when they are post-op, in fact they are extremely likely to be slower than their counterparts - there are several articles and studies about this

you know how everyone freaks out about Caster have 10 nmol of testosterone?

post-op transgender athletes have less than 1 nmol, it is less than half of their counterparts

but more importantly there is no national athletic federation that allows non post-op transgender athletes to compete, they usually have to wait at least two years, simply being on HRT without the op is NOT enough because it does not adequately reduce hormone levels

so how is a high school avoiding all athletic regulations at a state meet?

Since women seem to have little to no problem with this new, evolutionary development, then the time has come to abolish sexism in sports.

wejo (or rojo) can you explain why you feel wrong about shaming a child but not shaming any human being by purposely calling them "biological male" instead of the more accurate yet still respectful "pre-op transgender" - it's not political correctness, it's actually technically accurate and precise

you can't quantify "biological male" there are too many variations, XXY, intersex, etc. there are even women with severe PCOS that could be classified as "male" by your standards - what about babies that have gender surgery performed on them shortly after birth or in their first year?

and I've seen this been explained to you before by experts you've invited onto your own website - so was that all just lip service and you are just pretending to be even remotely considering the actual science and instead just "go with your gut because you know better"?

you can't lump all transgendered people together and start foaming hate or intolerance, that's like being racist except it's gender in this case, which still doesn't give you a free pass

so at a minimum use accurate terminology that is yet still respectful of human beings, even if you disagree with their existance

It should not be able to compete with girls just because it thinks its a girl really it is still a boy so it must compete with boys

Also, so what if this kid gets shamed? That's the kind of attitude that has created this problem for the kid in the first place. Kids need to hear what is right and wrong. This is because people born female with XX chromosomes have a typically female build, which means certain capabilities associated with the ability to reproduce but not with the ability to do athletics so well as males. Hormones is just one part of the picture - a born male will also have a stronger, bigger, more athletic frame to compete with, of which some muscle reduction is hardly the whole picture.

I think you have to admire the top female athletes all the more for being as fast as they are with female hormones, without the benefit of testosterone and the greater physical size and strength that goes along with it.

Rojo here's the problem with CT right now. Everybody saw this gender vs. bio problem coming.

The CIAC said, "crap we don't want to deal with this." So they kicked it to the schools to decide. Now you have the schools saying "crap we don't want to be the ones to face the SJW's we'll let it go?" The coach doesn't care because he's getting an amazing athlete that can win.

People are afraid to make the right, but tough, choice for fear of the very real backlash they will receive. I don't blame the child at all for wanting to compete. But it is ultimately up to the grown-ups to make the right choice for everyone. And in this area, the grown-ups have failed.
