Somebody should compile a list of great races to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Very nice commentary. They provided little bits of personal info about the racers without cutting away from the race action. It held my attention from start to finish. Thanks for the link.

I hope this dumb diversion didn't prevent "dream from" or others from viewing the second to last post on page 2. A video consists of a bunch of single frames, but seeing just one frame doesn't tell the whole story if there is debate about what happens between that single frame (foot close to ground, but toes up) and the later event (the touch down of the foot on the forefoot). A slow motion video has a lot more frames than a standard video between those two points in time so you can see the better-than-"Fred Astaire coached" motion.
I know that people often don't want to waste their time clicking on videos, so I want to point out that that motion can be seen in the first 5 seconds of that video. Previous marathon WR runner Patrick Makau is the runner.
People still heel strike. Not sure why people get bent out of shape when everyone doesn't fit the latest theory which they have embraced.

Beware of videos showing athletes acting for the camera. That never tells you how they actually move when they don't realize the camera is pointing at them.
Dozens of pictures show athletes heel striking in the heat of competition or when in the middle of a hard training effort.

Of course many runners heel strike, including some really fast ones. I never said otherwise. Here, I'll even prove your point for you. Meb and Abdi heel striking, Hall forefoot/borderline midfoot, and Ritz midfoot/borderline heel:
https://youtu.be/A6sk10M9OWEHowever, I'd guess that a large proportion (50%?) of forefoot and probably most midfoot (flat landing) strikers would have a toe up foot angle when they are close to landing, so a still photo a bit before footstrike would misleadingly look like a heel strike. Ritz would appear to be a heel striker for stills a bit before the landings in the video above, but he's not. Slow the video down to 0.25 speed if necessary.
All four are heelstrikers. Most of them just transition very quickly.
