This is so true. It's not funny or fascinating anymore. It's very immature. Nike's not perfect, but I am thankful for them bringing back distance running.And the JoBros need to grow up.

That's a joke. If she said that at all it is probably early in her NOP career and wanted to say what was expected of her to say. That only speaks to how out of touch Salazar is. Yes Goucher has proven to be somewhat of a hypocrite. But ultimately Goucher is a human being trying to get ahead in the world as a professional athlete. Nike is a giant multi-national corporation that holds a large share of the purse strings in T&F. If Salazar felt surprised and betrayed by Goucher saying one thing, then saying another after she got a contract with Brooks brothers, than Salazar is ignorant and not qualified to retain all the powers he has with NOP.

All the testimony from the other NOP athletes speaks for itself. And its pretty consistent. Salazar was asking them to do things they didn't feel comfortable doing. In short, they didn't trust Salazar. And even if you can successfully argue that all those athletes were the problem and not Salazar, then why did Salazar invite them to work with NOP in the first place?

At a certain point Nike has to ask themselves what is success for a T&F club. When you have so many disgruntled athletes and trainers leaving their relationship with NOP on bad terms than that is not success. At a certain point Salazar has to take some responsibility for that. In case you haven't noticed NOP is lacking in having any young up and coming talent.

Again, it doesn't have to be any big deal. But this is why all large organizations have things like human resources departments and general managers overseeing the operations. Salazar is a great coach but he is not qualified to do those duties. It seems like Salazar insists on a lot of control. Which is fine. But you also cannot blame Nike for denying Salazar certain powers.

Take it down a notch, boys. Though very obsessive, driven, and intense, Salazar truly cares 100% about his athletes. He WANTS them to succeed. He cares for American distance running- hence the whole reason for OTC...which eventually split into otce, BTC, NOP. My original post was not made as a negative, and should not be taken that way. Salazar did his thing, made a massive contribution in setting the bar high for American success, and is just dialing things back a bit. Nothing more. Nothing less. It's not because of any investigation. His group of athletes just put on a show, as did men and women from the other 3 groups he was directly/indirectly responsible for the creation of. Be happy about that! At the end of the day, please remember that he's also human. Meaning, there's no need for all the ugly things being said. When someone posts something so completely negative, I feel it is more of a reflection on their character, rather than the one they are trying to denigrate. Everytime I've ever been in contact with the man over the last 20 years, he's been nothing less than kind, and always seemed genuinely interested in how my own personal training was progressing. Let your hate go. As was mentioned, be happy for the huge contribution that he has made to a sport we all enjoy (and some of us love).

I am not sure if you are being serious, but obviously you don't count Farah toward the American medal count because Farah is not American. Seems logical to me.

Alberto has given us very much. He inspired these other large training groups. He's not the person some posters think he is.
