Didn't Alberto Salazar accuse me of putting the dope on Galen which led to Alberto doing immediate research into what levels of testosterone could be applied transdermally to his own child, who was outside of WADA control?

I'm wondering how Remi Korchemny got banned after admitting to giving one modafinil pill to Alvin Harrison in Paris 2003 and Salazar is excused for executing a doping program to his child for a clearly BS reason. Or any reason.

Scratching my head, I still want to believe these people are clean.

He's hard to like and does a very ethically questionable program, so hard to get enthusiastic about what was a brave and tough performance in difficult conditions against a very tough field. With 7 distance medals, the U.S. surpasses its anemic performances in the past seven Olympics, I would guess.

Flanagan I respect; I would be interested in hearing what exactly she has to say on this matter. Goucher is just a person with incredible physical talent and no emotional fortitude. She wants to blame Salazar for her failures, but the problem is not the coaching as Centro, Rupp, and Rowbury prove. Sure, you can claim whatever you want but I want evidence not the word of a mentally unstable person who spends all day feeling sorry for herself.

If you have real evidence, lets hear it. I hate doping as much as anyone and I was humiliated to see the US mens 4x100m doping relay squad. I was glad they were DQ'd, they should never have let Gatlin and Gay in there anyway.

Goucher won a bronze medal at a WC 7 years ago. Since then we have Centro gold 1500, Rupp silver 10k, Rupp bronze marathon, Jager silver steeple, Coburn bronze steeple, Chelimo silver 5k, Manzano silver 1500, Jorgensen gold triathlon. She is old news.

It seems likely that Mo Farah will move to marathon running in 2018. Can't wait for the 2020 Olympic marathon!

Very happy for Galen, but hard to know how he can get gold in Tokyo.

2. In Rio he had a great run (it seemed) and was still outclassed in a slow time.

3. Based on his 10K/marathon performance it appeared that Alberto pulled out all the stops for him training (and ?)-wise, and it worked, and he still has a ways to go to gold.

Other than dumb luck somewhere, where will the extra improvement come from?

....and don't say "don't do the 10K". That did not hurt his marathon.

Rupp had even more of an advantage. He only had to run one 10,000m run.

This is what's going to happen:

#1 Ivo Van Damme Invite (Sept): following post-Rio decompression, Coach Sal's not shutting it down for the summer ... no way w/Galen's level of fitness. Galen goes after US 10K AR at Van Damme Invitational in September. Then he shuts down.

#2 2016 World Championship: he will double again! No doubt they'll be prepared for Kipchoge-like surges in the marathon versus preparing 10K last-lap speed. Coach also understands that Galen's going to need to lead the 10k next summer to increase his chances --- big tactical mistake this year ... needs to exploit his strength not "Be like Mo!" Furthermore, Galen's not going to run a Spring marathon and chase the $ ... he doesn't have too. Galen's going to continue focusing on Championship racing.

#3 Spring 2017 Marathon: he will go after a AR/WR in the Spring in order to get his confidence up for 2019 Tokyo Marathon -- he will not double.
