I find it all hilarious.

The media, which absolutely stumbles over itself whenever there's a race/sex/gender angle to a story, just doesn't know what to do with this one.

NBC interviewed all the winners tonight ... except one.

Wonder why.

Great point .. your five year old daughter should be the arbiter of sports rulings from here on. Until she turns six, of course, and then is too old to have her opinion considered so seriously. What are her thoughts on the 10 nanomoles per liter idea?

Then all the men competing in the 1500m, 5k and 10k should have boycotted because of Farah's, Rupps and Centrowitz's association with Salazar. Everyone knows that all of his athletes are the new Lance Armstrongs but are untouchable because of Nike. Absolutely agree with the consensus but why the fu\ck are we blaming poor Niyonsaba? She doesn't deserve to be lumped in with the other two.

Hey DMC...lets put it in ethical perspective, shall we? You know about ethics, right? Ethics implies a level playing field for everyone. Ethics is justice for all. In Semenya's Limpopo tribe, there is a word: "Italasi", which refers to intersex individuals. Do you know why that is? It is because in South Africa, the practice of intermarriage between blood relations is still a common occurrence. "Interbreeding," if you will, turns out to be a contributing factor in the birth of intersex children. That is why the government of South Africa has banned consenting sexual relations between blood relations, to staunch the genetic fallout. In South Africa, 1 in 40 babies has a birth defect, and 1 in 10 will express an inherited disorder in their lifetime. In Semenya's case, her disorder renders her imminently capable of middle-distance running, because the reproductive organs in her body are MALE. Semenya has no child-birth capacity. Her primary reproductive organs are MALE. She has no uterus...no ovaries...just internal TESTICLES. This means her testosterone levels are somewhere in the (lower) range of most men...which far exceeds that of most biological women...We should pause for a moment, though, and acknowledge the incredible performance of Melissa Bishop of Canada tonight ( a gorgeous and fully legitimate female), who ran on the heels of a trio mutant, intersex freaks (Semenya, Nyonsaba, and Wambui) just missing a bronze medal. The difference is that women are a protected class and have their own event.

There are no separate events for hand-eye coordination or height or what have you. It's not like any other trait that could give you a natural advantage or disadvantage.

There are weight classes in some events and then you have to stick with your weight class and there has to be a line drawn. Same with male/female.

The alternative is no categories and a free for al but then we wouldn't see any women in sport any more.

I appreciate the post above ... fair comment. But I disagree with the conflation of women with a given testosterone level. The line drawn isn't simply nanomoles per liter. Or is it?

.. because if it IS .. i'd refer back to my initial post .. under the CAS ruling, Semenya was still the fastest non-doped 800m runner in in the London games.

The OIC and IAAF were secretly laughing their asses off during the race. They're trying to keep this Caster thing going as long as possible because it gives the sport attention. Eventually they'll strip Caster of the Gold medal, but only after they've milked this controversy for all its worth.

Caster is a dude, has always been a dude, and is in fact married to a chick. His family invented this lie about him being a her in order to cheat to victory. Then they played the victim card and they got a lot of support from the social justice terrorists. Caster does not compete with women because he thinks he's a woman, but because that's how he can win. If it were true that he "Just wants the right to compete", then he could compete with men and there would be controversy.

My favorite part of this event was the athlete introduction as they stood on the start line. The contrast between those individual with some sort of genetically male advantage, and those without, was on full display. The most obvious contrast was when the camera showed Caster, doing her bro-shoulder-dusting gesture, and then showed Jozwik blow a kiss to the camera. The reason this was my favorite part of the event, was that it was the perfect PR gesture that Jozwik could do to make the public at large want to protect women's sport.

The CAS decision was clearly driven by a political/social ideology of "gender freedom." It's reversal will happen when it's absurdity is on display in the court of public opinion. I'm so glad Jozwik took the opportunity to show what a fully female athlete is like.
