Literally any song by NF
A couple more masterpieces by Joe Cocker, covering someone else's tune.
It's kind of hard to improve upon Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson" so I'll just say that this version of it re-frames it in a new light, and totally kicks ass

The ones that have a drug problem and/or committ suicide are the real deal. Chris Cornell and especially Kurt Cobain are good examples.
John Denver is pretty good, but I’ve got to give it to Adam Duritz of Counting Crows.
Subtle, but deep, emotions are way more challenging to express than overt anger, happiness, etc.
Perfect Blue Buildings, Colorblind, A Murder of One, Anna Begins, and August and Everything After are some songs that showcase Duritz.

Nah. I just have any appreciation for the music. I'm several decades younger than boomers.
Pink does a pretty decent job of covering Joplin:
Can we all agree that the uglier the singer, the more soulful the lyrics and the voice?
