Race Distance You Could Eventually Hold Your HS 2-mile Pace At?

I can hold my high school two mile PR for one mile now.

I agree that every high school kid should read this thread. But I don't particularly agree that this time range is that impressive.

I was a 400 runner that started running 800s junior year of high school and eventually dabbed with the mile senior year (51, 2:01, 4:38). I only ran the 2 mile twice my freshman year before my coach figured out I was a mid-distance/400 runner and they were in 12:23 and 11:52. I ran 17:02 in xc (I probably split like 10:50ish for 2 miles) in high school and translated that to 26:43 for 8k in college but I've never raced longer. I still don't really have an official 2 mile PR not from when I was 15 though.

HS PRs: 4:33 1600 (12th grade) / 10:10 3200 (10th grade) / 16:34 (11th grade) - 35 mpw in 10th-11th grade, 25 mpw in 12th (different coach)

College / All Time PRs: 4:15 1500 / 9:11 3000 / 16:25 5K / 27:00 8K - 60 mpw

6 x 400 in 66 with 3 minutes rest once a week in high school got me a 4:33 1600

8 x 1200 in 3:50 with 2:30 rest twice a week in college got me a 4:15 1500

Needless to say, a little disappointing. Oh, well.

Only raced up to 1500m at High School = 4.53.

66.04 half marathon now...hoping one day to run the marathon at 4.53 1500m pace which is 2.17

9:13 two mile in HS

13:10 three mile indoor in college - just before NCAA moved to 5K

28:21 10K
