The last great club-coached 800 runner was Michael Glanville. He also raced 4 times every 3 weeks in HS.

Chantelle is running incredibly and with great savy. The manner that she ran her even spilt 800m (2:10.66i) shows she have great talent and a great future. The only thing that will foretell if she will suffer burnout is time. Let's all enjoy the Nicole Blood's and Chantelle Dron's and hope they continue to improve and have long prosper athletic careers!

If college is going to be a "reality check" for homeschoolers, then I would say that the educators (parents) did not adequately instruct. Seems to me, though, the "reality" of college and its freedoms do in a ton of public schooled children who are not ready to deal with the self-discipline required. So, I don't think that "college-readiness" can be strongly argued one way or another for the home/public schooled.

Chantelle Dron's races have been very impressive this year, and she will most likely continue to get better through high school. the culture shock will come when she goes to college and doesn't have that same schedule and can't train whenever she wants or do school work when it's convenient. College is going to be a reality check for home schoolers and it's not going to be pretty. there is something to be said for the schedule most high school athletes follow which prepares them to deal with a collegiate academic and athletic routine.
I really hate it when all these York supporters come on board and mention Marius Bakken as if he was a product of York. The kid went there one year. He went one year at Indiana and then he was gone. He didn't develop until he got to Europe, away from the U.S. system. If York is so great then how come they keep having to mention a one-year foreign exchange student as if he was a product of their program?
