An opened box containing about 5, 3.5in floppy disks with an MSDOS based golf game.
This was in 2004 for a 15:30 5k win.
My unspecified award for winning a local 5K (600+ runners), probably just a medal, is in the mail. Uh-huh.
For winning a competitive local 5k, I won a trophy of sorts. It was shaped like a miniature outhouse and somehow built around a wooded mouse trap. It had a small slit in the top where you would drop a coin and the whole thing would explode. BTW, the pace "car" was a tractor pulling an outhouse on a trailer.
Won a 3,000 person race. Instead of awards the RD used all the $ towards a random raffle which had ~$4000 in prizes. I won nothing in it.
Got 2nd in a big 10k. The overall winner was the same age as me and they allowed prize double dipping. Nothing given for 2nd place o/a or 2nd place a/g. Instead the overall winner got two separate gift baskets with a gps watch, shoes, massage gift card, restaurant cards, etc.
Won a 5k component of a large city marathon. The marathon had cash prizes but the 5k didn't but they separated out the overall leaders from BOTH races to prevent double dipping in age group awards. Since there were no overall awards for the 5k, I didn't win the age group award either and walked away with nothing. Would have gotten a $50 gift card or something if I was a minute slower.
Once got a plaque that said "Overall Man" (not male). I actually like that one.
T-Shirt that said "Let's Chicken Out". Collegiate cross country race, sponsored by local fried chicken restaurant.
Race at brewery. didn't win overall but took age group. Person handing out awards was supposed to do 6 pack, 12 pack, case for 3rd, 2nd, 1st but instead handed out cases to everyone and started with the older divs first ? By the time they got to my div they figured out the f*up.
Also won a couple 5k that I would have rather gotten 2nd or the age group prize. Membership to community center out of town instead of popular food chain certs etc
Came in 3rd in an SF Cherry Blossom 10k run and was a given a case of Sapporo beer.
Must have hung around almost 2 hours (if I hadn't won overall, I would have booked) for a small bouquet of flowers.

For the only road race I ever won overall first place: I got a 10 cent plastic beer cup with the name of the race on it.

Once I won a top 3 age group prize, some trinket, while my friend who I talked into going won a RT domestic airline ticket in the raffle drawing. He ran probably a 50min 10k
Another time AG and overall winners picked random envelopes from a table. I got minor league's baseball tix while a different friend (a runner) got $50 clams in US currency.

In 2004, while my team went to a two-day meet a few states over, I stayed local because I had agreed to take my girlfriend at the time to her sorority formal. Yes, I know.
My coach was pissed off, but I found a meet out in the boonies at a smaller, state-run public college, got myself registered, and showed up. The meet was sponsored by Smuckers. I won the 400m and was presented with an expired jar of jelly.
Once i was runner up by two seconds at a Half. The winner got a very nice hand carved mantle clock. I got nothing except my age category medal.
At another race I went to the winner "medal" was a 2d wooden poorly carved and hand painted frog.
I won a 30k race and the prize was a nice jacket. Only problem was it was size XL. How many size XL guys are winning 30k races? It is now my brother's golf jacket. He's gotten some other large clothing that I've won too.
Expired coupons and gift certificates are popular where I race.

Won some regional track races as a teen and once won two within an hour... ata YMCA sponsored event. they told me that'd get my name in the local paper. "Howzat, boy?" Thing was the event was 20 miles away. I'm sure it was in the agate type. never saw it.
