How much money? Obviously you have some insider information. I find it hard to believe that any doctor would willingly help a teenage kid dope. If a doctor does not feel at risk, and is well-accepted by the authorities in the community, and is helping the local high school sports team, then I would say he would be willing to sell Chinese drugs (or use samples) to parents who are willing to pay top dollar for them.

Getting drugs in from China or Turkey is quite easy, especially if you know the local delivery service-man. Helps even more if their son is trying to make the football team. Getting through customs is not a challenge.

That aside, HS kids have been "doping" for as long as there has been something there to give them an advantage.

There were guys in high schools in my area who were taking veterinary steroids intended for horses way back in the 80s.

I went to a private school where practically everyone's dad was a physician, in a state where football was religion. I have no doubt that a few dads were providing "assistance".

I went to HS in the 90s. Our football team set the county record for the most consecutive losses- not sure the number but it covered three seasons. I was friends with some of the kids on the team and learned after graduation that even those guys were using PEDs.

I coach track now and definitely believe it's still happening in all the sports. I've overheard coaches/kids talk about it, sometimes freely in the weight room. A rival/friend coach once told me one of his top kids was using to recover from an injury. ADs don't want to deal with it because it would be a massive can of worms to address minors and drug use.

Funny thing is, you can walk into a GNC and legally buy stuff on banned substance lists.

It's not your job to determine what's right and what's wrong, nor is it anyone on here.

With the mentality on this board it's no wonder doping has gone on with the veracity as it has for the past sixty years.

It sounds like a clever prank that the "doper," would plant in some idiots minds to psych them out.

We will go around in circles but with this cover-up you are talking about, you should be contacting Dateline, not posting on Lets Run.

Doctors make plenty of money, so they are not going to sell Chinese drugs (brought to you by the same people who poison their children) to kids who are hoping to run a little bit faster.

And you are bringing the police into it? So if a doctor is friendly with the police in town, they will turn the other eye, especially if it's steroids or testosterone, which are schedule 3 drugs? They won't perform a raid if you leave a few donuts at their office?

And finally, the postman? Seriously? So if you leave the postman the occasional milk and cookies, he will bring you your drugs in the mail (keep in mind, he's a federal employee)? And how would you even do that? Give him a two week heads up and say "hey Newman, I have some shady drugs coming from China and Eastern Europe. Be on the lookup for them so nothing happens to them. They are the box labeled: "steroids and HGH").

I agree with you that it sounds ridiculous. But I know of two towns that this happened in - one in Texas (where I grew up) and one in Louisiana (where my college roommate grew up). Maybe things are different where you live but where I grew high school football was the biggest show around. The head coach was the king of the land. And every dad wanted to get their kid on HGH and hold them back in 8th grade. So, yes most of our football and track team were using some kind of PED. And from the police reports we learned that the doctors were getting them from China.

Of course it can help those that are weak, especially, as in this case, a high school girl who is clinically diagnosed iron deficient and anemic -- unless of course she is already running 8:30 for 3K.If she is truly anemic, I wouldn't call this blood doping.

I am very familiar with the athlete you are speaking of. You know who I am so why don't you give me a call. This athlete NEVER took TRANSFUSIONS as you claim. They were iron infusions due to an 18 month medical battle of anemia and low blood ferritin (9) caused by an auto immune disease. You are being fed misinformation so rather than lay awake and worry about whether you should contact someone to report this athlete why don't you get the facts? Like I said, you know who I am so let's clear this up in good faith. I am more than happy to take your phone call. What you have heard are lies from a coach who missed a great opportunity. So please do the right thing and I will gladly share with you this athletes 18 month medical battle.

1. Never say harmful things about others on the basis of one report.

2. Don't go out looking for corroborating evidence when you've heard only one report.

3. Beware of nasty little conversions of similar-sounding words like infusion and transfusion. Make sure you're using the relevant words properly before you put anything in play.

4. Talk to people first before reporting people. Probably 75% of what you suspect isn't true, and it isn't worth the collateral damage involved to make sure the other 25% get their due in social media.

Do you have any idea how much heartache we could spare ourselves just by following these simple rules?

Clarification on #4: Talk to THE people first before reporting THE SAME people. You'd be amazed how often there is a perfectly reasonable explanation and you don't have to be lifelong enemies.

Whenever I'm at the gym at that university where I'm a grad student, I'm often amazed by how casually and openly the undergrads around me talk about casual steroid use to get the bodies they want. When I was living at home, I heard high school boys (I use the term 'boys' loosely, based on their physiques) talking about trying different stacks while I was lifting at the local YMCA. It's amazing how it's proliferated down the age ladder, and I'd be surprised if there isn't at least a bit of that going on at the high school level.

I too have been privy so some juicy high school information. My information was top notch. First hand; just like yours. Affairs; fist fights; broken bones; wild parties. I know my kids aren't lying to me, but most of the time it turns out to be gossip.

Thankfully, I had to good sense not to pass it along as truth on the internet.
