Somebody is trying to make small talk and show a little interest in your running and this is how you would respond? REALLY?
How about a simple, "yeah where did you see me?".........you can talk about your route or whatever.

This. I've said similar things, "Oh really? Where was I?" And then I can say something positive about that trail or path or road or whatever and why it's a good place to run. It prevents you from coming across like a self-absorbed jerk who only talks about himself/herself.
I always say nowadays that they must have been mistaken.
