Two world records and PBs that make Farah's PBs look like he was a high school varsity runner. Not to mention Farah was embarrassed by Bekele on his home turf at the Great North run and his marathon debut and PB are both better. So no, those two don't really compare at all do they? Farah has run a faster 1500m. Good for him.

The only thing holding Farah back as GOAT is his lack of a WR. Break one of Bekele's unbelievable marks and he cannot be dismissed, even by the most cynical critics. His championship record matches Bekele's now. And he is sure to surpass it at the Olympics.

What a joke. Any runner with balls would go after a record. Hell, Bekele went after Komen's 3000m and failed but he tried. Call me when Farah goes for the 5000m or 10000m WR but he won'. He won't go for those because he's a 1500/3000m runner but has no shot at either of those records.

It irrelevant as that is not how championship racing works. Everyone does not time trial to the line.

Personally I think that very few would be able to argue that he is the GOAT championship runner if he gets double gold in Rio. The problem with the label of GOAT is that it is more subjective and is quite personal for each person. For 90% of posters on here he will never be classed as the GOAT, even if he took down the 5/10 records over the next couple of years, and this is because there has to be an element of warming to the personality for that runner to gain someone's ultimate respect and personal label of GOAT. I for one love Haile and part of that is how he is such a great guy alongside his competitive nous and astonishing talent. For me he will always be the GOAT, so these threads are a bit silly really.
