I wouldn't have (when I was competing at a very low level), but perhaps what Ms. Beckwith Ludlow needs is confidence. And running a world class time is going to do more for that than even a really good 4x400 workout.
Elite jumpers don't PR in training. Not even vaulters - that is for high school kids.

go watch the monaco 800 & work out how much extra souly ran on bends & consider he had little effective drafting as so wide for most of it

that run by souly completely re-writes the history of 800, especially for what elite 1500 guys can run for 800 of primary 1500 training

Its practice / training. It shows she can run, but it's meaningless until she races. All these pacemakers and projections are worthless.
They give medals on first past the post. There aren't any spare lanes for those who are not planning to finish. If this gives her confidence then good for her.
However it will have no bearing on the actual race. It doesn't mirror any race condition except for distance. If they'd thrown a tackling dummy at her every 75 m I might think a tiny bit differently.

What? It also mirrors a fast pace. Some of you have no idea what you're talking about. If the pace is fast then she'll know she will be ok.

Looks like she wasn't one of the favorites after going home after the semi's with a slower time than that time trial. Imagine that.
