Which track clubs have had at least 12 sub 2:18 marathoners in their history?

i have a copy of the 1986 AW roster sitting in front of me. gary siriano IS on the roster.

The Aggies were the balls back in the early and mid 80's. A great group of guys, particularly the ones who got together for tough workouts weekly in the South Bay area followed many beers at the Pac Steamer!!!

I'd guess Invicta and Gateshead have pretty good lists.

The Peppermill running club in Reno only existed for a year but smoked the aggies that year. Off the top of my head Derrick may 2.11, Domingo Tibaduza 2.11, Miguel Tib 2.13 Danny Grimes 2.13 Tom Woods 2.15 George hernadez 2.18 Al Delhinger 2.18 a couple more Columbians whose names I don't remember 2.15

When did Clarke get a 2:18? I've always seen his best listed as 2:20.

Major centres, a few big name runners get together in a club....gee, might the club attract other big runners?

Quality of clubs and coaches should not be judged by the number of 2:18s or whatever.

What if I live in Inuvik, and I coach a young Native guy to a 3:43 1500m? Is that TOC club automatically "better"?

Which jazz club might be better: New York or Timbuktoo?

Didn't the Atlanta Track Club have a bunch of marathoners of high quality back when Benji ran there? Also Florida Track Club may have had some in the Shorter and Batchelor days. I'm hoping others have the data.

You make some good points but I wanted to highlight a great club that is different and has been a great club over the years. The Toronto Olympic Cllub was founded by runner/coach Paul Poce in 1954 and still exists with Paul as head coach. Since 1954 they have had many Champions, Olympians and great international and Canadian runners on the road and the track. Tthe club is up there with the best clubs in the sport. I was never a member!

Siriano was never a member of AW.

This race was an attempt by a Boston newscaster & friend of running, Jack Hines, to stage a second Boston Marathon in the fall of 1983.

Tommy Leonard, Guru & Boston Marathon "official greeter" asks, "can you have two Christmas?"

The race was held through the streets of Boston. Andy won a car.

The race may have benn run for a few more years after that, I don't recall.

I think that Bostonfest was only held one time. It was replaced by the Boston Peace Marathon which ran in from Concord to Faneuil Hall. The idea for both was for a fall event.

Gary Siriano 2:12:15...? Was he then out of NIKE East or NIKE Allegheny? NY or PA guy?

For a brief period, Gary Siriano was on the AW roster. Siriano was from Pittsburgh, from suburban Shaler High School, a 880/miler type with bests of around 1:55 and 4:15, if I recall correctly. He ran for the University of Pittsburgh, moving up to longer distances over time.
