I started this thread because I thought it ridiculous that Planet Fitness allows a man in a woman's locker room just because he "identifies" with being a woman. Whether our culture is strange or paranoid about being nude is really not relevant. I personally don't care who sees me nude but that is not the way society is. Most women would rather not have a male in their locker room. The stupid church and prude comments are being made by either people that annoy comprehend what is happening or people that believe everyone should hold their opinions. That's discrimination. Everybody should be allowed to use the bathroom they identify with. However, if someone gets an erection in the women's bathroom he obviously does not identify with the female gender. Unless of course, he's lesbian. In that case he should be allowed to stay.

Not sure he could really claim with certainty that drugs contributed to this. Not that it isn't possible. The big irony is it doesn't matter. When people say being guy is a choice or being a transsexual is a choice, they act like it matters if it is a choice or not. It isn't really up to anyone to accept what someone else does with their life. People have the right to make choices and be happy.

THIS is the fairest solution. One thing that no one seems to have addressed in these posts is that this not just about modesty or gender identity issues, it's about penises. Those with penises are the perpetrators of the great majority of sexual crimes. You don't believe me? Do you need me to link to the statistics? A woman has a valid, statistically supported reason to feel uneasy about a penis watching her while she is undressing and showering in a locker room.

What is to stop ANY pervert from saying that they "identify as a woman" in order to gain access to the women's locker room? Sorry, I'm not "there" yet, media.

If there is a penis on the prospect, then that penis belongs with the other penises in the penis only locker room. It really is that simple.
