just the ones that come to mind, the list probably is much longer.
I believe Sell belongs (only because he never tried hard in HS), the others have all been disproved except:
Desi Davila - from her USATF bio -
"About Desiree Davila broke 5:00 for the mile as a high school freshman and has quietly and steadily worked her way up to being an Olympic marathoner. She was thrust into the spotlight after her thrilling finish at the 2011 Boston Marathon. Davila battled for the win with eventual winner Caroline Kilel through the final stretch of the course and came in second by only two seconds. Davila’s performance was one for the record books as she clocked the fastest time ever by an American woman at the Boston Marathon in 2:22:38. After her success in Boston she was invited to throw the first pitch at a Detroit Tigers game. Ran track and cross country in high school in addition to playing soccer. Deena Kastor is one of her running role models and lists collecting whiskey and tapestries as her hobbies. Engaged to fellow marathoner Ryan Linden."
Since people consider 4:16 for Levins mediocre, maybe a 4:58 as a 15 year old is too ... you got me.
She was a finalist in the CIF State Meet all four years, placing 8th in the 1600m as a freshman and sophomore, She doubled in the 800 as a soph. She placed 5th in the 1600 as a junior and 4th in the 3200 as a senior.
She also played soccer in HS, don't know which season that interfered with.
