With his size and lack of ability to get a really deep tan, the guy's best shot is in the 800. The further he moves up the worse he's going to do, until he gets into the ultra distances where he'd have a much better chance at winning something again eventually.

1) Really Solinsky, really? I get it, you tried "whatever" and it turned you into a running cyborg, you cashed in with a footwear deal and fair enough, the "incentive" quite rightly disappeared. Now you are back to water and apples and you are a joke my friend. Please, you had your time - just be happy you had your 15 minutes and faaaaddddeee away because you are making yourself look silly.

2) Robbie, German - hate to break it you but this is not college with everything laid on tap for you - routine, training partners, all the self-righteous American BS you can get fed about how "awesome" you are - this is Europe. And no matter if it is Brussels, Stockholm or some shitbox race in Italy no one gives a flying f%$k if you were an NCAA legend or not they want to beat your a$$es. It's become quite blatantly obvious you simply can not handle the life of a professional athlete and hey, its not for everyone. So much time sitting around thinking about the next race, the expectation to not SUCK because a shoe company thought it was worth jamming six figures into your bank account annually - yeah its tough but let me give you some advice fellas - its just running. You are not up to it and that's cool - but again, like Christopher you both are making yourself look like clowns out there. Back to the US, marry some running groupie from your college who still thinks you are cool and get a job in bank earning half of your salary but be happy you can eat a hotdog and down a pint and not stress about it affecting your next 1.48/3.45 outing.

You're kinda stupid, aren't you? German ran a 3:38 like two weeks ago. In, you guessed it, Europe. And his 3:34 from the last brief period he was healthy was also in, you guessed it, Europe.

Also, six figures? You really think after all this time without results (even beforehand, probably) German Fernandez is making six figures? I doubt he gets more than $40k.

German more than likely felt a twinge or something and pulled out immediately - wasn't going to take any chances! Remember the pattern here - Train for 6-8 weeks, get into good shape - sub-four right now! But..... then, that's exactly when the frick'in injury comes back! I think he's physically capable of running faster than 3:34 this season but his nagging injury will more than likely flare up again before he gets the chance. Let's hope he can PB before it comes back at him.

Listen pal - there are B races in Belgium, Germany going 3.38 as I type - what exactly do you think a 3.38 means? Big G-man winning the B heat in Braaschat in 3.38 - yeah, that's the big leagues my man.

Also let me enlighten you, going to Europe and being healthy isn't the exception - it's the bottom line prerequisite, or national class runners are going to make you look like chumps. So if you are "injured" better off putting your money on Netflix stocks than wasting it DNF'ing in some low profile Flaanders Cup meet.

As for 6 figures - German no idea - Robbie A? I can tell you for a fact he is on that ticket from the big German brand. Good to see that "investment" is paying off.

My point is, all these fools you guys champion are just not cut out for it. You guys pull it off over guys like German, Robbie, and in the grand scheme of it all they don't mean anything. They are irrelevant and run like it.

It's too bad sometimes that we cannot talk in person.

First off, you are a first class AH. Unless you are Kenyan, an athlete running 3:38 in their early 20s still does mean something. I can't say if Andrews and Fernandez will ever get back on their previous targetory, but I am confident if they keep plugging along, they are going to be productive pro athletes. The fact is, there are more NCAA athletes who stuggled their first couple of years on the pro circuit than who did not.
