This argument is so tired and, frankly, dumb. I have only ever known male collegiate runners (or high schoolers about to become male collegiate runners)(or post-collegiate male runners) to frequent this site. And, if any of them are worth their salt, their PRs would be world class amongst women.

This isn't to say that there aren't a fair number of "running enthusiasts", male and female, on the boards. But there is no way in hell Mary Cain is faster than 99% of the people frequenting the boards. Not everyone on here is a scrawny, anemic welterweight poser. Despite what the crossfit trolls would have you believe.

Pretty stupid, but its the truth.

When I was in high school, my girlfriend at the time was faster than me and it definitely motivated me to improve. Dropped several MINUTES off my 5k from freshman to sophomore year, thanks to her. When we first started dating, I wasn't really even sure track was going to be my thing but watching her kick ass made me want to do the same. Changed my life for the better.

If she had faster pr's than me then you would be writing threads about her every week and I would get to travel all over the world for free and go to the Olympics so yes, by all means, I wish that were the case.
