That's still not right, the times do not match up with what the sub elite ranners actually crossed the finish line at. Wait until there is an official chip time result

The real shame is that the sub elite guys were hoping to sit on the elites and maybe get a breakthrough PR. With an elite field this deep, someone is bound to have an off day and the sub elites can capitalize on that. That's why sub elites, like my buddy, flew from across the country to Atlanta. Then you have to run in a smaller field.

I was lined up behind Ryan Hall getting ready to start then all of a sudden Rick K.(ATC Director)shows up and starts pushing guys back with a number instead of a name on bib. I was one of the elite masters with a name just a low number. Same as Kevin Castille and few other masters. We was suppose to start with elite guys just like the female masters runners with their start. Kevin and another guy was getting into a heated argument with Rick about the staggered start. Rick told them he will disqualify them if they proceed forward with the elites. They didn't explain that to us in the technical meeting the night before. Kevin was looking to double dip like Jen Rhines did. Plus results are all screwed up. Kevin ran sub 30:00 . They have him listed 31:26 and mine was off by 1:30.

seems to me if you're elite enough to warrant attendance at the technical meeting, you're elite enough to start at the gun. I was expecting to blame a poor call by a volunteer official - but if Rick was there, then its clearly a top decision. Given Jen Rhines double dipped with masters $ and 7th overall, it's even more unfair mens masters did not get equal treatment.

This is a bad move on ATCs part - hope ya'll who are directly impacted raise some serious flags.

DEfinitely up there with the ongoing complaints of "this is why track is a joke."

Of course, Rick is also in trouble with the hobby joggers - lead story on AJC.com (the paper that sponsors the race) is that they ran out of finishers tshirts. No big deal to frequent runners, but for most of the back of the pack, I'd bet this is the only race they do all year.

just noticed: http://www.letsrun.com/photos/2014/peachtree/index.php look at the pics. Rhines has a "low number bib" vs a name bib. So looks like via registration they treated all masters runners the same (number vs name). If the rules were numbered bibs start later, why was she there. Clearly a sexist delineation between mens and womens starts. bad call ATC.

My buddy is a full-fledged USATF member who has competed in USAXC champs. He was given confirmation of his "Elite" start status via email. He's composing a press release of his own, hope to get posted soon.

ATC has updated the page with chip/time results, but based on the discussions of athletes above, trying to decide if this looks accurate? Based on this 16th was the first runner in with a chip/time differential indicating 2nd wave?

Most (all?) of the guys that went with the "emerging elite" start have times that incorrect (slow) by 15-20 seconds.
