The stupid things Larry Rawson said at NCAAs thread.

Nobody is insulting Larry as a person. He just says some wacky stuff.

Before the 4x100, other guy said, "this is the event that decided the close outcome of the indoor championships" Larry corrected, "I think you're referring to the 4x400M relay this is the 4x100"

I don't know how sports broadcasting ever got done before all the experts came along.

I've run into Larry a few times at Cross Country meets in which he was not broadcasting and he is a good guy and champion of the sport. He does have some odd phrasings during a given broadcast for sure and/or tries to dumb it down for casual fans very unlikely to be tuning in in any major way.

The play by play announcer on the stream yesterday had a tough day. At one point he interchanged Phyllis Francis and Ashley Spencer about 5 times.

Larry is shining compared to the other guy.

Rawson is the least of the coverage problems. Whoever the host is, he knows nothing about track, and continually calls finishers by the wrong name.

The female sideline reporter actually said (twice) that the coaches object to Eugene as the site because it takes so long to DRIVE their team to the meet. Please tell me, she doesn't believe the Florida Gators don't get n a school bus and makes a four day drive across country.
