They didn't? Wow...
He actually came down and raced a 5 miler here in the Springs the week before as a tune up. Most of the people there (at least among decent runners) had some idea who he was.
He won in 27:52 (yes, course was THAT slow), but only by 5 seconds. Given the result I suspect he was just on cruise most of the race and eased away the last mile.

Either way, the course was pretty tame. A couple 5-10m sections of mud, one nasty 15m section of really thick mud, and not much else aside from that. Some bumps really, the closest thing to a hill was about a 6 foot elevation gain.

USATF Xc Committee are a bunch of useless bozos.
I can vouch for he and the guy in second that day. Very tough course in terms of terrain, it was snow the whole way and they both broke the original course record. He looked to be chilling when we saw him cruise past 2nd place. Very cool to see him racing in the Springs!
