Adidas Adizero Pro replacement?!? (with replies from adidas)

No matter how good a flat is, you're going to have a hard time getting people to pay $150 for a racing shoe, which has poor durability generally. The store I work at (run specialty) will definitely not be bringing something like that in.

I would rather have the "inferior" mesh upper and adiprene+ from the RC/CS and have a shoe that costs less than $85 and performs perfectly fine for 95% of the running population.

Also, Adidas needs to bring back the Adizero PR.

Have to agree here, I couldn't tell the difference between one 'engineered mesh' and a bog standard mesh, as far as I'm concerned uppers have changed very little in the last twenty years, maybe in terms of materials and jargon but in actual performance? No. I could go as far back as the adistar marathon racer in the mid 80's, the upper on that was fine, or the adidas advance or the cubato, most customers don't give a flying f*** about the mesh, they want a good midsole and a responsive hardwearing outsole, the rocket was pretty close to that and it was fraction of the cost of the Takumi.

This basically sums up my thoughts. In my mind, the rocket was just about the perfect flat. Why in the world adidas discontinued it is beyond me. It was way more durable and comfortable than the hagio at a cheaper price. They literally lasted 1000's of miles. I'm still working on my second pair of rockets, and those two pairs have lasted me a combined 4 years. The nubs on the hagios start wearing of after 100 miles. Forget the pro, being back the rocket!

Whatever happened the Neftenga? That was a pretty decent flat but alas it was not in production for too long ...

When is the Adidas line of Knit-shoes coming ???

You can get the Prime Knit shoes here in the UK... don't bother £150/$200 for a sloppy fitting upper on a Tukami sole without the DSP.

i will respectfully disagree if you are referring to primeknit 1.0. 1)it does have DSP in medial heel and just past midfoot and 2)the fit is anything but sloppy. in fact, this is an example of a very good adizero fit, meaning that it follows the shape of the last beautifully, hugging the foot in all the right areas: heel (nice 3D shape), midfoot and vamp. i'm not suggesting you go and purchase a pair nor am i going to try and convince you that they are worth the amount being asked. instead i just wanted to point out those two things.

Is the next Boston and Glide going to get the "Boost" treatment?

Ok here goes. I'm actually an Adidas fan, I train in the tempo, however your view that the prime knit 1.0 is 'anything but sloppy' is ridiculous. I wear a uk 10 in the tempo, I wear a 9.5 in the hagio, a 10 in an adios 2 is a bit narrow for me, but generally I am a ten. I don't have super narrow feet, I saw the prime knit on offer so ordered a 10, it was absolutely massive, it was too long and so wide the sides of the upper overlapped when I laced them. Returned them for a 9.5, still way too big and way too wide. Returned again for a 9,length was too short but the upper was so wide my foot still moved around and the lace holes on each side met in the middle. As for the sole having dap, compared with the taking the amount is tiny, it's far closer midsole/sole wise to the old rocket. Yet still it is £150.... In a word ridiculous. The prime knit concept might seem like a good idea but what you get is a shapeless super floppy sock stitched to a sole.

Yes, Glide BOOST will debut in December of this year (depending on your country). Boston gets BOOST summer of 2014. Sequence also gets BOOST June 2014. All the construction was considered carefully to fullfil the expectations of the consumer!

BOOST will be the demise of adidas running shoes. Bye bye responsiveness, good solid ride (instead of a bouncy, unstable and squishy one) and hold on the track.

Adios Boost looks cheap, fits cheap and rides cheap. The only positive thing about the boost material is the durability and behaviour in cold conditions.

But for everything else i dont see any reason for serious runner to wear these shoes.

The Glide and Boston were perfectly fine!

Adidas running is on a steep decline, and this is not only my sole opinion but the opinion of many of our customers. (i work at a running store)

Which Adidas shoe/s would you consider to have a bad "adizero fit"?

I bought the Hagio and have worn it a few times. Here are my impressions:

1. The midsole is the exact same as the Pro, as far as I can tell. That feels nice.

2. I agree with the heel slippage noted by others--the fit is looser in the rear.

3. The materials quality reflects the lower price point. Everywhere the Pro was plush, the Hagio is cheap and plasticky.

Not too bad for $49!

I am still searching in vain to find a Takumi in size 13.

When is Adidas relasing their Prime Knit line?

I tried out Adistar Boost yesterday when looking for a more cushioned shoe to rotate with the DS Trainer. Though I'm not into bells and whistles and was wary of the price tag, they felt better on my feet than anything in the store. I like the narrow Adidas fit--is there anything else, by Adidas, Asics, MIzuno that would be comparable to the Boost, but slightly lighter? The amount of control seems fine. Thanks!

You must be a very serious runner.

They also didn't have to spend a single dime of their own money for their Adios Boost.

I guarantee they would have run just as fast in Adios 2...even the original Adios (hell, I'd even throw in the old CS). 3 shoes that cost 35-45% less than the boost.

Is the Adios Boost a good shoe? Probably. Does it offer $40-50 worth of improvement over the Adios 2? No, not even close.
