If you look at athletic.net you will see there are 67 young ladies at 2:13 or better who are 9-11 grade in the US. athletic.net is not the most complete listing of marks, but that gives you an idea of who is out there for competition. Ohio doesn't list anyone under 2:15, but unless coaches or some track nut posts major meet results from the state on athletic.net, marks are missed. So you can see that the list is incomplete, but of some value as to how many good underclass 800 girl runners there are in the US.
Top marks start at 2:06 for a soph out of WA and 2:07 for a soph out of Mi. Top D1 programs are going to go after that level of girls first, but there should be plenty of schools around who would be interested in a 2:13 girl. Again, it would take more information for a good coach to make an offer. Less for the second tier D1 schools and plenty of interest for the non-scholarship schools.
I looked over the Ohio results and don't see a girl that went from 2:17 to 2:13. Olivia Smith went from 2:17 to 2:15 to win her div 3 championship. No others dropped that much. A few went from 2:15 to 2:13 in div 1 Ohio states.
So, I stand by my position that more information is needed before you will get the answer you are seeking....a key d1 interest in this athlete.
Well, first of all, I didn't say she was from Ohio. And second of all, that site you're using isn't any good. At the D1 state meet, the top 9 girls in the 800 ran under 2:15 with the winner in 2:10.
