Part of the problem with this thread is it assumes a mile pr is more important than the 1500. It isn't.
Can you give a converted mile when someone asks your 1500 pr?

What? Since when? I claim mile.pr based off my best 100m ever. Legit.

I'm not OK with that.
I have a 3:42.1 1500 PR which converts to 3:59.9.
My mile PR is 4:04.8.
I claim my mile PR is 4:04 but I will say I have run a 4 flat equivalent.
I never say I have run a 4 flat or sub 4 mile.
Otherwise you are just saying something that you didn't do.
If someone says - what can you run a mile in?
I'm OK with giving the conversion.
Because you can run that.
If the question is - what have you run for a mile?
You say your actual time.
^^^^This is spot on. It's understood that many don't get to run a mile in peak form because the 1500 is the competitive distance outdoors. If you run 3:42.1 for 1500 on a flat 400m track can you run sub-4 for a mile? Absolutely. But if you haven't run sub-4 in actuality, you can't claim it as your PR.
Everyone here lies about their times anyway, so what's the big deal ?
