I find it humorous the coach felt justified commenting on other's muffin tops while he himself sporting the biggest muffin top of them all!
Glad he was finally outed for being a manipulative, misogynist pig. Let this be a warning to young women who, perhaps unwittingly (and naively), entrust their academic, athletic and professional futures/careers to men. They should be very discerning and suspicious of all male coaches, professors and managers.

Even if Emma started all of this (who knows if she did), Hadsell handled all of this in the most unprofessional way possible. Read some of the texts. No coach should ever be texting like that to an athlete, no matter the situation. It doesn't matter who starts it, it's the coach's responsibility to end it quickly.

Not to mention he encourages excessive drinking among his student athletes, stalks them at bars AND places them in harms way by driving them to/from athletic functions while inebriated.
The young woman (and apparently young men) who ultimately blew the whistle on this creep should be commended for their bravery and good judgement. Kudos to them.
wow, no actually i am not a misogynist. I am actually a 20yr old female who knows that Emma Kertesz is not 'young, and impressionable but a woman capable of making decisions for herself. All this staged bullshit against Hadsell is inappropriate. There is no doubting in that he played a part in the situation, but I know from being around the team, that the text messages that were sent to Hadsall were cut out.

Criticizing the actions of a female, in and of itself, is NOT an example of misogyny. If you believe that it is, then it must also be appropriate to label anyone calling the actions of a male into question, or screwing too many of them for the wrong reasons, a "man-hater."
By the same token, someone who simply can't keep his pecker in his pants is also NOT a misogynist. If Hadsell were embarking on these extremely ill-advised texting and fornicating adventures with the conscious goal of demeaning his targets, that would make him a misogynist, like Aaron Eckhart's character in "In The Company Of Men."
Also, last I knew, it was difficult to tell from a photo whether someone is actually creepy, or prone to molesting children, or lecherous. I suspect as an apparently higher profile coach his pics have been out there for a long time. Funny how only now does he look like a slimeball...though I admit, that hella grin is a little OTT...
Former MAC athlete here. I may not have personal first hand info on this topic, but this is an open forum and here is my opinion...welcome to 2013 blogging. People who have done wrong don't deserve to be protected. From what I have read online and know of the people involved i have no remorse. Hadsell is a pig. Every woman who competed/currently competes in the MAC has ALWAYS seen him for the pervert he is. I still have no idea how/why any girl could have been blind enough during their recruiting visit not to see that. And it pisses me off that he got away with this for so many years. With that said, Emma doesn't seem to be a pure and clean "victim" or hero. Her texts make it seem like she played right along; wilingly. Thanks for getting rid of him but I rank how you (Emma) did it the same way I rank how Lebron left Cleveland: low and selfish.
When sexual harassment issues occur, usually women will support each other. Considering so many of the girls are supporting their "x" coach is indicating that kertesz provoked the situation and encouraged it. No, it doesnt make Hadsell actions correct, but it does shed light into the whole situation and indicates that there is more to it then Deadspin and other tabloid reporters are elucidating.
What do you mean "so many of the girls"? How do you know that it is more than one or two?
What makes you take the side of a random chick so quickly? You have no idea. A majority of the team is on the Hadsell's side more than Ketesz. The ones that aren't don't know the full story.
Hadsell: "Not gonna lie. I would hook up with [Caitlin] (I havemt) but if she wasn't psycho I would."
Hadsell: "But you and I are far too cool not to [hook up]."

Hadsell, who was in a relationship with [Caitlin], but still manages to lie about that and call her a psycho because he is hoping to hook up with Kertesz on the side. It doesn't matter if Kertesz played along with him. Hadsell is the creep. Those two text messages pretty much sum it up. There is no downplaying his behavior. A select group of people are obviously doing all of the posting in his defense.
"So many of the girls" are backing Hadsell. So, yes more than one or two are backing Hadsell. Take a step back and question why team mates would not support another team mate-current or not. Because there is so much more to the story than is being disclosed. Also, the girls on the team have been around this situation for years, and know Hadsell and what has really occurred. The fact that tabloid and posters are sensationalizing an issue is typical, but it doesnt make any of it factual. How about everything considers how it would feel to be having your reputation tainted on the basis of fabricated and sensationalized stories. There is no doubt Hadsell crossed the line, but these pedophile comments and other derogatory, vile language people on this forum are using is unnecessary and unsubstantiated. The bottom line is my team knows the circumstances and thats why we are all backing our old coach.
