Start applying for teaching positions, get licensed and take your chances there. Stable, great calendar, flexibility, you can control your own environment, pay isn't too bad, time to get your advanced degree etc...
Obviously, there will be many negative remarks to this suggestion on this site but keep in mind, most here are young, inexperienced at work/employment, highly critical/negative, always looking for the easy way out, want something for nothing etc...
Another option; Think STEM. Go back to your local CC and get certified in a trade. Technical jobs pay quite well. Those that think they can live without plumbing, heating and cooling and electricity are few and far between. You'll never go hungry and the job market is wide open to people who are mature enough to take those types of careers seriously. These could also include more technical ares such as the communications industry, electronics etc... Don't need the engineering degree to have a rewarding career working side by side with engineers.
Quitting on yourself is not an option. Don't fall into the trap of blaming others because it slows your progress to your goals.
I lived in the back of a car I stole from my own parents to get by until I got my feet on the ground 1200 miles from home because I struck out locally. Cut your ties and take care of yourself. This is an adventure that will make you stronger when you do get your career underway. It's a character builder and you will appreciate what you have a lot more than anything that could be handed to you because of who you knew. You will have made it on your own.
You will succeed!!!
