I agree that Luke in Star Wars is just beyond bad; I would say campy but that is probably giving the performance too much credit.
The "otherwise great movie" criteria eliminates Godfather III from consideration.
Last time I watched Good Will Hunting I was wondering if Affleck was really that weak or if his character was meant to be that way. In particular there is the scene at the end when he is walking away from Will's apartment and you can see him thinking about how he is walking, his stride. Is the actor doing this because he is uncomfortable acting or is he doing it because the character is a poser?

Keanu Reaves was 'exxxcellent!' in Bill and Ted, and OK in Much Ado about Nothing. However, he easily wins this thread with 'The Matrix'.

You are right. He should never act. Ever. Although I did like his one scene as a bartender in that movie "Death Car". But yes, he's horrible. He sucked in "Reservour Dogs" as well.
I would say that Kevin Costner is the worst actor in one arguably great movie "Dances with Wolves." "Goodfellas" should have won that year anyways. That man could never act.
And I agree that Al Pacino did a tremendous job in a mediocre movie like "Scarface".
Brando in the first Godfather. Best pick I've seen in a film that is actually considered great.

Interesting premise for a movie, fantastic set design and color, perfect camera work, great score, Patrick Wilson was perfectly cast....and then Ellen Page shits the bed through the whole second half of the movie with her painful, atrocious overacting.
I guess I don't have the right to say anything because I don't have the slightest clue on how to "act", but when the main character actually detracts so much from what is happening in the story I can't help be frustrated.
Never have I walked out of the theater so on the fence about what I just watched.

Agree except those Star Wars movies he was in were forgettable. Talking about the classics.
Every single one of them after 1983. I saw one of those deals in 2001 and it was fantastic special effects and I couldn't wait for it to end. Boring as hell.
Blue Velvet at one time was considered a great movie and had horrible acting by every actor involved other than Dennis Hopper.

have to agree with star wars - luke being the weakest character, although his ability to be innocent worked.
bale was the only detraction in batman - but i have tried to like him and find the good in his performance.
reeves was a huge detraction in matrix - without him i think it would have flowed along much more easily
affleck is always bad in my opinion - just the handsome leading type that tagged along with Damon for a while

Every basketball scene in Hoosiers. Really like the movie, but the acting performances by the players in the games are atrocious.
The Beach could have been good if Danny Boyle had chosen Ewan McGregor instead of Leonardo Di Caprio.
