Don't believe everything you read.
The womens race was at 9:30 Temperature 60° dewpoint 54° perfect.
The mens race was at noon. Temp 74° DP 57°
The men's race was affected by the Sun's altitude, which makes the "road temperature" more than the recorded (in the shade) temperature. humidity was not a factor at all.
Women's race started at approxiately 9:30 (9:31 - 9:32)
The men's race started at approximately 11:00 (11:01-11:03).
mostly flat, one slight incline on each lap.
The course was composed of 3 laps of 5k + a last lap of 6.0975k
Each lap had 3 hair pin turns.
Each hairpin turn had a radius of 3m except for one of the hairpin turns on the last lap which was basically around a cone.
Weather conditions:
Bright sun - no shade
warm (not hot) but warm for a half
slight wind
humidity - didn't appear to be a factor
let me correct myself - he humidity didn't seem that bad but it obviously took it's toll on several runners.
The humidity appeared to bother Flanagan more than others
The men's team from Japan finished in 8th place. Couldn't they get commitment from any one of their 23 under 1:01 runners to race?
Their 'B' squad can't beat our 'B' squad?
Tired of hearing about their quality when they can rarely 'bring it' to international competition.
