Looked like that was the pacesetter's split and they were well ahead of the field. I'd say the field was a couple of secs down.

Is there a video of the race up yet? Universal sports usually uploads highlights of the races, but I haven't seen anything yet.

Hypothetically, if Centro was only in 1:47.0 shape (but he is certainly faster), what would 1:47.0 and 3:31.96 give him at 3k and 5k? I am assuming some sort of ridiculous times, which should show everyone that he HAS TO BE faster than 1:47.0 at 800m

I bet he could go 7:35/13:15 with just a small adjustment to his training focus. If he switched to 5000, he would definitely be sniffing at the 13 barrier within a year or two, but why would he leave the 1500 when he's so so good at it?

you have to offer him faster 800s until you get more reasonable over-distances

1'46.0 ->7'33.1 , 13'10.9 , 27'58.9

1'45.0 ->7'37.2 , 13'22.9 , 28'36.6

1'44.0 ->7'41.4 , 13'34.9 , 29'14.3

experienced eye tells me that 1'45.0 is where you start...

driouch's got the mentality, ability, closing speed, and youth to dominate this event for a decade.

Sorry, but it appears the medal is where he shot his load. Mission accomplished. Time to bask in all the glory. Simply, Rupp is too soft mentally to finish a race:

So lets call it 3:32. That's still a great time. His PR had been 3:32.46, so this is a nice improvement.

He's really proving to be a top notch guy.The new PR coupled with his consistency puts him right at the top of US 1500 guys right now.

Totally confused by all the continued hating on Rupp. I have yet to hear a non-subjective reason for why people dislike him so much. Also tired of hearing people talk about allergies being in your head, a friend of mine wound up in the emergency room because he raced during high pollen counts and he couldn't breath. Pretty sure he was tired when he surged again in the last 50 meters to beat Lagat at the trials. You don't win a silver medal at the Olympics being a severe head case.

Right there with you man... I don't get it either. Rupp gets consistently fast every single year. How many other White guys in the modern running world with professional athletes place in the top 10 at the Olympics in the 10,000m at age 22? NOT MANY!

Rupp is a great guy, he works his ass off! Big deal, he dropped out of a 1500m. Why don't you losers talk about how Abdi and Hall Dropped out of the Olympic Marathon like little punks. THAT IS THERE EVENT THEY SHOULD BE READY! this was tune up speed for Rupp. Everything they do at the Oregon Project is calculated. Wait for him to go sub 13 in the upcoming week and all of you be licking his balls at how fast he ran. Don't jump up and down screaming at the TV next year when he wins a World Championship Medal cause clearly all of you think he is a POS..
