Dope, for Kenya he'd passed his use by date. They happily let a guy go who was living in the USA.

No would have expected him to keep running at this level. If they had they never would have granted him exit.

This is a good one. Hmmm, I guess the altitude helps only the Eastern Africans. Is there any other countries that have high altitude outside of Africa? And do these countries have any runners?

he was born/trained at altitude, so no worries there, but the claim that he'd switch sovereignty to avoid kenyan talent does not stack up. lagat ran 3:26, and other than ngeny, no kenyan's been close to that ability ever. he still ran 3:27 in 2004 after he became an American citizen but before declaring that citizenship. Even in 2007, he won double gold over kenyans and all others at world's, and won multiple medals again in 2009 and indoor gold at 3k even this year. He became an American citizen because he had long ago moved here and lived here.

Guniea pig? Why would he think that Salazar's athletes are guniea pigs? He is a coach and they are athletes getting all of the luxuries of Nike and Al. Gunie pigs make it sound like there is a high likleyhood of failure.
