Which US athletes could qualify for the OT in 4 events?

Kerron Clement likely had 4 for the 2007 National Championships:

100m--10.23

200m--20.48

400m--44.48

400m Hurdles--47.61

I can't find the 100m trial standard that year. In 2008 the A standard for the trials was 10.08 so he would only have the B (10.28). He would have had the B standard for the World Championships in 100m (10.21 was A) and an A standard in the other three.

I can't find where he has run a 100m since 2007 and he had the maximum allowable wind for that one, so it is by no means clear that he could make those currently.

Found the A standard for 2007, which was 10.20, so Clement would only have had a B for that event.

His personal best in the 110 hurdles is 13.77 which would usually make the B standard but not the A. He did not run that in the same window as the other marks but he is potentially a five event man. He'd have to be in peak shape and have perfect conditions to make it though.

Another person that came to mind was Erica Moore, 2012 Indoor WC Bronze winner.

Based off of PR's she could hit the hept, 400IH, 400, and 800. I know the OP did not want to include the multi folks but I dont think she is doing any more multi events. I think that gal has tremendous upside in 800.

Mac Wilkins - the best all around thrower ever

Set world records in discus - 232'+

world class in shot put - 69'+

Both of the others would need some work, but were very respectable marks for that time period.

Javelin - 257'+

Hammer - 208'+

I realize this does not hit all standards, but if he would have worked on the others, I am sure he could have gotten there

I am just saying, it is impressive that a thrower even had a chance. that is an athlete.

But we're just talking about qualifying for the OT in the steeple, not winning it. I doubt Rupp would have any trouble qualifying for the OT in the steeple. He'd have to do a few technique sessions but that's about it. He's an 8:10 2 miler after all...

Do you have a link to that result? The IAAF does not have that performance recorded and this press release announcing him as the SEC performer of the year mentions him winning three other events but no mention of the hurdles:

Has placed in top 10 or 15 at NCAA skiing, which is an automatic qualifier for OTs.

The steeple does not take a "special" athlete. Rupp could probably win the trials if he was in 8:10 shape without preparing for the steeple.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Shalane on the women's side. She would not only qualify, but be our #1 in the 5k, 10k, and marathon. It's very likely that she could place well in the steeple and the 1500. Jenny Simpson would also be able to do very well in these events, but with a lean towards the shorter of the distances.

10,000. Ran 33:15 last year and will run at Stanford this year and will kill that time

Marathon. Ran 2:35 in debut

There is absolutely no chance in hell that Ryan Hall could make the olympic trials in the 1500. 3:40 B standard is harder to attain than sub-4 and everyone remembers what happened when Ryan Hall tried for a sub-4 on a fast road course last year. If you don't, let me remind you: he wasn't even in the same ballpark as a sub-4.

Brian Olinger actually did qualify in 4 events. Steeple, 5k, 10k, marathon.
