Which school has the best naked running traditions

That's pretty demonstrative of how seriously they take their honor code if it's mentioned alongside streaking the lawn. And one of the above posters called streaking the lawn a graduation requirement, which is absolutely false. Just because the administration acknowledges it or even condones it does not make it a requirement. It sounds like a whole lot of people do it, which is cool, but that doesn't mean the whole student body does it.

This thread is useless without pictures.

Lawrence University used to have one, but the university (mostly local police) worked really hard to kill it

Wow, you sound like a real fun guy. You must have tons of friends. What about streaking is dishonorable? And did you actually think someone was implying that it was a literal prerequisite of receiving a diploma from UVA? As if even the dorky, socially awkward Asian kids needed to take part to receive their Engineering degrees? (Although they were probably less lame than you appear to be.)

Sad story, but the first paragraph describes the tradition well. It started years before the article was written and I hear it lives on today.

When I arrived at Princeton in the fall of 1975, their tradition of streaking was alive and well. Generally during reading period and final exam period at the end of the term, people would semi-spontaneously drop clothes and dash around one of the dorm courtyards. I believe they ran across campus once or twice. There may have even been a streaking session into and out of Firestone Library one snowy winter evening.

Was that when Princeton was still a all male, all gay campus?

Every person I know from VA that went to UVA streaked. Every single one.

It was fun, I would suspect track and field athletes would be even more likely to do it over a beer. Hey we're faster so we get it over sooner!

Most athletes do it their first year I was told.

The funny stories involve people's clothes being stolen.

I spent 5 years at UVa and streaked the lawn probably 20 times or more. Almost everyone does it. It's actually a pretty tough run in the dark if you've been drinking. There are changes in elevation and sometimes the bricks can be slippery in winter. Also, the length is deceiving.

What nobody's mentioning is the fact that the honor code and streaking the Lawn were both ripped off from William and Mary.

Ended around 94ish after police and swat were bought in to stop it and a bunch of kids got arested. It was kept going by a word of mouth for a few years. Myself and a few others that ran for Millersville went back a few years after we had left Millersville maybe in 2000 and the kids on the team didn't even know about it. And the after party from the relays was maybe 15 dudes sitting around having a few beers. So we went and got a few kegs borrowed a big stereo from their neighbor turned it up started inviting everyone walking by to stop in for a beer. Turned into a huge party, stair diving,keg stands, dancing and YES naked relays right down the middle of brookwood apts. It was the epic party kids talked about for years after. That was my "Old School" moment!!

I'd have loved to see Mary streaking. William not so much.

Q - Why did Jefferson found UVA?

University of Oregon track and field did a naked 400, Happy Meal 800 and a Beer Mile in the early 90s for several years. I have no idea if this continues.

Princeton first admitted women in 1966, so no.

The tradition is just to streak through one specific courtyard, but obviously the more brave souls added on.

I've spoken with alums who were in the last class to do it ('01 I believe) and they said by then it had started to get to the point that couples would have sex in the open in the courtyard because all the spaces covered by bushes were taken. Apparently someone got pictures of the daughter of a public figure doing the deed in the bushes and that was part of what prompted the university to shut the event down.
