I work as a telemarketer but it's really unsatisfying. I'm thinking about becoming Speaker of the House (I watched CSPAN once when I was trying to get to sleep so I'm pretty qualified).

The funny thing about your guys posts is that your clearly trying to mock me but your scenario has zero chance of happening.
I'm actually being realistic I GUARANTEE you that.
Why is it so hard to comprehend that some people are good at more than one sport.
I bet there are other lets run people here that are talented in more areas than just running...
There is literally no chance you make a top 25 basketball team.
If I decide to transfer and do this I am going to reveal my identify to you all.
Would make all the naysayers look silly.

You cannot walk on at ANY DI program for basketball, let alone a top 25 one. Maybe a Harvard type program, but considering you're DIII (notwithstanding your obvious lack of perspective and intelligence), there's no chance you have those kind of smarts.
If you really had the talent to play DI, even as a walk on, you would have been recruited widely and would not be running at a DIII school, you would be playing basketball there trying to get to the next level.
You largely overestimate your athletic ability. Hundreds of guys on here could run circles around you, on the track or on the court.
Oh, and 4/10, only because you pissed me off enough that I wanted to respond.
You are like a troll's dream, smart guy.
Do it. Even better - if you can prove it without a doubt then I'll give you everything in my bank accounts. It's only around 6k..but it's yours!
Correction: I am THIS troll's dream.
To the idiot: learn to read. The entirety of my argument was directed at your inability to get into a top 25 basketball school AND play basketball there. What part of "you largely overestimate your athletic ability" relates to your ability to get into said school? And how does getting money from a DIII school prove you have any semblance of intelligence? Both of my coherent arguments were focused on the topic at hand, if you would take the time to hash them out.
So, in this hypothetical dream world, you get in, hooray! You still will never be able to walk on for basketball at a school like that. I go to one of those schools. I have two friends on the team. One is an absolute baller and hasn't played a minute this year. Unless you are 6'4" and up, black, and ripped, you WILL NEVER get a chance to walk on to one of those teams unless:
Daddy has a BUTTLOAD of money.
You like sucking coach's pole.
I have no doubt that you can ball. But I can state with all certainly that you do not ball that hard. A lot of people are very good at more than one sport. You are claiming to be GREAT. And you are not. End of story.
Hank Moody we shall see..
Darkstar I respect your last post. Instead of saying I can't do it you elaborated and I appreciate that. I appologize for the misunderstanding about what you were saying and what I thought you were saying. My fault.
Could I be wrong and be cut from the squad? Sure. However, I personally don't think that would be the case. I will never know unless I try.
I do respect your post. You made sense unlike the other naysayers.
Back in the olden days at my Big Ten school, the JV team alone was filled with former All State hoopsters,
guys ranging from 6-8 to 6-footers.
Amazing abilities. All thought they were going to be on varsity one day. All thought they had mad skills, dunks, outside shooting, super-quick. And they did.
But they weren't good enough.
Just going to be honest, you are insane.
Transfer.
I was in a similiar boat, not having fun in college, but my friends were. Decided to transfer to a bigger D1 school and it was the best decision I ever made.
I don't think I believe the D1 basketball thing, you're either a troll or delusional. For kicks though, I think you're greatly overestimating how much "Fun" being a bench warmer would be. It's pretty miserable to be putting in hours and hours of work and never actually getting to do what you love. Not to mention all your time will be spent in the sport you'll never get to play, so good luck having "Fun".
Whats the harm in trying guys? I would honestly be surprised
if I was cut.
Poo Poo Poo I assure you I am not a troll. I suppose I could be delusional though lol.
The reason I want to do this is because without doing so I fear my parents won't let me transfer. If I set my sights on playing basketball for said school than the 30k a year in there eyes would be justified. (It is out of state).
My school now is in-state and very cheap for them because of my scholarship.
If I could transfer to said school and not play ball I would do that, but I don't believe that is an option.
Thanks for the response
This basketball/xc-track conundrum has caused me to wonder if there are any sub-4 minute milers who can also dunk a basketball.
Their definitely are.
I am a pretty good CEO of a pizza chain. I do really well for myself and I find all the critical solutions. The only problem is that I have zero fun doing it. I think my skills would work at President and I would easily win the nomination. What do you think guys?
Enough of the nonsense posts mocking me please.
Thanks in advance
Ok since you are an expert in D1 BB. What program has open spots for a walk on. How would you go about doing this? I'm thinking about it myself. Is there an age limit?
Talk to the coach of the school you are thinking of. Obviously you need to be a college student age. If your a bit older try BYU.
Good luck
I used to coach at a top D1 program, but fell upon some legal troubles. As a result I am trying to coach one lucky ex-runner into the next D1 talent. The only thing I ask for in exchange is that I can watch you shower, go to the bathroom, and sometimes force myself on you, and you, in turn, do the same. Let me know if you're interested! Best of luck!
Ha very funny...
