How long do benefits from 'roids last?

Sorry man, I have a way of doing that sometimes.

But like I said, I have always suspected that those abilities are due at least in part to a spiked supplement--although, just like with Bolt, Pharmalita, or anybody else who experiences a very dramatic, very fast improvement after a plateau, I can't prove it.

Any thoughts on the PED question?

Each steroid has had a different effect on the body: I'm 35 years old and have been cycling since my 22nd birthday.

Tren (trenbolone) was listed first for a reason... Best gains held after PCT. Strength and vascularity were phenominal even a month or 2 post cycle.

Superdrol is/was (banned) a great pro-hormone; i used it as a "bridge" between cycles to keep a lot of the gains. For reference I think my natural 400m would be about 47.9 (I ran 48.8 in HS with no peds).. on a heavy cycle I could dip under 46.. and when I was maintaining gains which was most of the time I would be around 46 mid.

To answer the question: Yes, I do believe there to be long term benefits to steroid use. Think of it like winning a 300 million lottery jackpot, but continuing a career. The individuals bank account is "loaded", once the money gets used, withstanding interest, the account decreases. The change is slow, but gradual, yet will likely never be as low as before hitting the jackpot. I'd consider steroids (post cycle) as a slow process to achieve equilibrium.

I would suspect that 'roids would cause structural changes in tissues, which may or may not be reversible depending on continuation of stimulus--a use-it-or-lose-it kind of thing.

Also, what about kids who are using them before their bodies are mature? During a developmental phase? Might not the changes be wired-in in such a case, for better or for worse?

And where's the commenter who said that Gatlin would never again run under 10 seconds? Does he think that Gatlin's sub-10's from this year do NOT represent his natural ability?

Based on stats from this thread and elsewhere, I'm no longer totally convinced that my creatine was spiked. I just haven't done weights around any real power/strength athletes for a while, not since I worked out with a bunch of U.S. footballers, so I guess I've forgotten how much weight people who actually train for this kind of thing can push around.

But I'm still interested in the lasting benefits question, especially because 2 of these guys will probably be in the semi's at WC's, and probably at least 1 in the final.
