CU to the Pac-10!

CAA and Patriot are Div. I-AA (football championship sub division) for football and DI in most other sports. Lots of schools cross division lines (because of the competition level) but NO one crosses conferences within a division. You won't see a school have a football team in the SEC and their baseball team in the ACC. And if a school has DI football, everything else is DI. Conference affiliation is definitely not determined by each sport.

there\'s nothing preventing it though. now that TV is driving all of this we will see new additions to the PAC16 football brackets every year. in a few years my guess is it will be 32 teams in the PAC brackets. Boise State should be in it. they\'ll have to rename PAC to something else

the only time a sport is in a different conference is when the other schools don't have that sport, for example- stanford and cal-berkley are in the NorPac for field hockey, along with a school like appalachian state, which is way the hell away. All sports that the pac-10 offers will compete pac-10, there is no way in hell that they decide individually

2011 is the new 2012. That is still a year away though. Just ask Nebraska.

many sports at pac10 schools don't compete in the pac10 conference. the business case is evaluated on a regular basis at each athletic departments. it is up to each sport. the director / head coach has to justify the rationale for choosing the pac10, mountain-pacific or which ever.
