Oh, and no diet is faster. Pick up a fruit & eat. I don't have the patience to eat like Jurek, even if I wanted to, which I don't.

Can you ethically eat fruit that is picked or do you have to wait for it to fall off? "extreme" fruitarians would advocate the latter.

I don't understand how anything you just mentioned for a meal is really healthy. All of the dinner items you are eating are highly processed. Isn't the whole goal of healthy eating to eat to as close to natural as possible. A huge percentage of vegans I know pretty much just eat like crap.

To be fair, the poster said his or her diet was vegan and made no claims about its being healthy. A vegan can be very concerned about animal welfare but not so much about his or her health, and there's no contradiction.

Also, the poster's diet may not be optimal, but it's probably healthier than what most people eat.

No, I eat picked fruit. I shop at the grocery, like everybody else. :) Would it be cool to eat only fallen fruit? Sure. But that's very impractical.

I ate some fruit and boy howdy were there some bad reprocusions! Be careful what fruit you eat.

You have been running good? What exactly does that mean? You are able to run 19 mins in a 5k or something? Thats not good btw (unless you are female aged 50+).

Well I'm more extreme then any of you vegetarians, vegans, and fruitarians. I don't eat any meat, fruit, or plants. I eat nothing living! I eat paint chips and am run/walking a 100k in 2 weeks!

That came from beef sources, and cooking isn't killing the mutated strains. Though they've been washing beef in ammonia to combat the infections common in meat packaging.

You should try Amy's garden burgers and Texas burgers and the like. In fact, try a whole host of the Amy's products. A lot of great vegan dishes, including enchiladas, burritos, burgers, fake chicken, all that stuff, and it's completely vegan (I'm pretty sure).

As for me, I have to settle with just avoiding dairy as much as possible. In college, it seems very hard to avoid meat products. I would often find myself eating the same things every day, so I caved and started eating meat because I think I still benefit a lot from not eating dairy, or at least in significant amounts.

mmmmm, sounds healthy.

What's so bad about needing more than one plant product to make something that immitates meat? Notice how everything after soy protein and wheat gluten is less than 2%. Also, the only things that really look foreign on that list are disodium guanylate and disodium inositate, and they are the last ones on the list, meaning they are present in the smallest quantities. I am sure there is a very good reason for them being there, despite their scientific-souding names (cuz that's bad, right?). Grow up.

And bear in mind that the whole ingredient list argument in re: meat= meat should also include penicillin and tetracycline and whatever growth hormones and steroids were used, plus traces of prion material from other cows that they've ingested via chicken shit and blood which makes up about 40% of cattle feed. Yum.
