What does it matter where I was? How is that relevant to the conversation?
People go through ebbs and flows..... it's part of any sport, it's part of life. Injuries are a big part of running, especially those who push the limit and teeter the line. German, Rupp, Derrick are still very young and have long careers ahead of them. I wouldn't declare someone dead or that they won't run faster than they did at 18. Ritz is a perfect example.
Teg was hurt alot in college (I still think that he has his moments) The difference is, that he is training smarter and racing is not that important in Oct - March!!! Now, he can "back off" and get ready for the real track season (April to Sept.) German will be fine as long as he is working with the right people who care about him as a person and as an athlete.

It is easier for the 800m and 1500m to be won by young runners. Why do think German was in the 1500m to begin with? In the 5000m, at best, he would be battling with Chris Derrick for 3rd or 4th, and in the 10000m, it would be worse. Rupp's 2nd place in the 10000m as a frosh shows a bigger prodigy, as does hid sheer consistency.
