Do you actually read what you write, or just hammer out circuitous drivel. You were just ranting that Nike should look for athletes outside of the United States, D-bag.
They already do.

I'm saying they should look for athletes outside of the U.S. because they are wasting their time looking for distance runners here.
Below is a list of athletes in Track and Field that Nike sponsors. Do you see any international distance runners that have won IAAF medals???????????

Who are these people everyone keeps bringing up ? I don't see any of their names on the Summer Olympics medalist list not the IAAF Outdoor WC medalist either.I agree. We're not talking about clothes and shoe contracts. It costs 10 times more per prospect to operate a team like NOP. Where's the NOP members on the IAAF or Oly medal stands ? No winners but one, Kara Goucher.
Yeah I see a lot actually. You should have taken the people who won medals
But if you're an international athlete and build yourself up to be sponsored by Nike, why would you come to America and change your coach and routine that made you successful? Take the Nike money and stay put where you are. You are saying Nike should look at athletes outside of America. By sponsoring interational TF athletes and national teams (like Kenya), I would think that would qualify as looking outside of America, no? They have just had no takers to come over and train in America. Nike has, more recently, been sponsoring national teams, instead of individual athletes. Wouldn't make sense if the Kenyan/Nike team trained in America.
Bernard Lagat came over from Kenya and he has been pretty succesful. He didn't go to Oregon, because he gone with the Oregon project he would have ruined his career.
You are either a brilliant troll or a complete dope. There is no in-between.
NOP has won 1 of 100 U.S. medals at the Oly/WC for the past 4 years, so it really doesn't matter if there is a NOP or isn't a NOP. Thus NOP can't be ruining T&F. Let it go.
I am not a troll, can you people stop calling me one please! I am also not a dope. I'll admit my writing is the not the best because I am engineer so I don't write that much. I apologize if my writing is not up the level of the English Doctorates in here. That being said...
After the WC trials last summer, letsrun.com came out with article that said the low attendance numbers for the WC qualifiers was because the venue was at Eugene Oregon. It mentioned the fact that had the trials been somewhere else say Richmond, or Little Rock or any other city that was comparable in size to Eugene, the attendance would have been greater. The article People lost interest because the trials keep going back to Oregon.
The USATF invested a lot last year in Oregon, and what happened people lost interest. If Nike keeps investing in the Oregon project people will lose interest. A loss of interest will eventually cause track and field, specifically distance running to decline and eventually be ruined. The rationale that I am presenting is logical.
If you people disagree with me thats fine, I am open for discussion. But calling me a dope or a troll, when I have evidence to back that is something I don't appreciate.

Jeez dude. Again, look stuff up before you write something. Lagat came over in 1996 for college and has been training in America since then (trained in America and represented Kenya), with a Chinese coach from Washington State. The Oregon Project was started in........2001. Like I said before, why change if you are having high levels of success. He does have Nike sponsorship AND trains in Beaverton AT NIKE sometimes. Check out the article.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/24/sports/olympics/24lagat.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1After watching xc's and seeing Ritz barely beet a field that wasn't worth of being at a high school meet I am further convinced that Nike is ruining Track and field.
NOP has only won 1 medal of the 100 US medals at the Oly/WC in the past 3 years. So they can't be ruining anything. Let them be.
