It's a good thread to bump at the beginning of summer. I live in a humid area and would like to be in a drier environment at times. (drier not hotter).
I've also wondered about the tech running shirts that advertise they can make you cooler by 'wicking' away the moisture from your skin. If it is evaporation that cools you, does 'wicking' have the same effect?
A controlled experiment from 1958 reported at

shows that when the skin is completely wet from sweat (rate of evaporation is lower than rate of perspiration), an increase in humidity causes an increase in body temperature, which results in (futile) increase in perspiration rate.
It seems Blowing.Rock Master was right from the begining...
you lose more in dry air. for those who've lived in arid climates, we know it's not even debatable. I can run all day in Austin and never take a drink. Arizona? Fat chance, it's not happening.

I am on my feet all day and by evening they are hurting. I am still breaking them in but foot pain is decreasing. My feet feel snug and supported. The arch support is very noticeable and feels good. Will be trying sandals also. orthofeet sneakers felt great as soon as i put them on. I am walking several miles a day and even started running some.

Of course he was. I don't know why desert dwellers or altitude dwellers want to insisty they sweat more just because they sweat a lot?
